Hmm - I'd have a wild stab in the dark that the "Loire à Vélo" might be in the Loire valley.

It's mostly fairly flat, so don't expect lots of off-road radness, but there's miles of good road riding, the scenery is beautiful, the chateaux are magnificent, and the wine is pretty damn good too.

Sologne forest is worth a gander, lots of unsurfaced tracks (like strada bianci). The woodland to the South of Blois centre has a selection of tracks in it too. A lot of tracks around Chambord too.

If you just want some light pootling then the Eurovelo route 6 runs the length of the Loire, on both it's route north towards Orleans and then as it arcs west out toward Nantes. Enjoy, it's a lovely area

The TDF finishes and starts in Tours so hoping to see it 1 or 2 of those days
Thinking might just take the cyclocross bike

There was a thread on this from 9 months ago; search for Blois for all dates and it should come up. Some good stuff around St Nicholas de Bourgueil i posted up and further west plus a few leads for Blois area IIRC.
