Where else to ask but here? Is a g fit really wide or pretty average. I like the Bedale but I have no Loake shops nearby and have never had this query before in my footwear world. Any Loak fans on here?
My Loake shoes are a fit F. I'd say my feet are a probably pretty average on the width side, maybe erring towards the wide end of the average spectrum. The F is a snug fit so G is probably a bit on the above average width. Mine felt too tight initially, but have relaxed and are nice and snug now. The chap in the shop said it's probably better to go slightly on the narrow side as they do relax and you can get them stretched out a fair bit too if they don't relax enough, so you'll probably get away with erring on the narrower fit.
F width on a chester brogue here. I was told the country shoes are wide to take a thick sock. I have quite wide feet and as wobbli said, they took some wearing in.
10.5 in pretty much every other shoe, my Loake Burfords (slightly less HD version of the Bedale) are a 10. Took a wee bit of breaking in but they're ace now.
