Looking for a campervan tour or that area and maybe some biking areas. In van so bit more challenging to drive for food etc. Got family and dog too. Any ideas of places to camp at?
Mynydd mawar,we stayed there,it's right on the top of the peninsula,loads of space.Cant remember how close pub or shop was but must have been within a 30 minute walk I guess as that's one of our needs most camping trips.Views great and quiet.Cant remember the mountain biking,but reckon probably have to drive for proper riding.But great campsite.
There's next to no mountain biking on the Llŷn, but it's a nice place to ride a road bike.
I've not stayed here, but often gone past it and it looks nice. Porthmadog is a great base for that part of the world and you can take the kiddos on the little railway.
Ah yes I noticed that campsite, looked to have great views too. Noted on the road riding, ill dust it off...
Stayed in Aberdaron a couple of years ago and there were a few camp sites within walking distance of the town where there was a pretty decent array of pubs and places to eat. Cracking bakery too.
Stayed at the site just to west side of aberdaron in September a few years back. Good clean facilities, great views, 5 minutes walk to the village (10 minutes back mind). Excellent access to the coastal path. Only 2-3 units there when we visited. Some tent campers pitched in the shelter of the hedge line pending an incoming storm. Gone by morning, heard later they'd legged it to stay at the pub instead.
There's at least two at the very far tip of the peninsula. No pub but at least two cafes very nearby. I think Aberdaron is the nearest pub. Lots of winding country lanes and there's the Welsh coastal path for walking or running. It's just a guess but there might be bike suitable trails On the north side near Trwfor bit that's just a guess. I did some running over that way and saw a path going to a neolithic fort. Bikes might not be allowed though.

Aberdaron is lovely but isn't a town, only has two pubs and three places to eat. There is no mountain biking, or even any bridleways in that area. The bakery is good though.
For any off road biking, either mtb or gravel, you need to be staying towards the Eastern end of the llyn. Somewhere like Porthmadog or Criccieth.
