Dave or one of the other manly channels (ie no day time soaps, chat shows or quiz shows) just get left on when i am working from home for background noise.
I see snippets of wheeler dealers, overhaulin, a car/plane/chopper/4x4 is built, lizard lick, top gear etc. Or stick some iplayer type things on.

That American chopper show is just as fake. So are all the rest of those reality TV shows.
Deadliest Catch is all done using green-screen, a large bucket of water and After Effects.
Those programmes are just fill the voids between adverts...
