can’t go full Braverman after this surely? Surely?
Barrells all the way down.
i think she has just realised it is a no win job. seriously who the **** is capable out of all the parties ?
not ****ing one of em will make a good leader of the country.
Ffs another bloody leadership election. Don’t they get the hint, gtfo tories
If an election was called they still need a leader to fight it.
Excuse the silly question, but what does she mean by having another election in a week? Will it be a general election or one within the tory party?
Didnt actually say resign though, odious little b1atch..
She definitely did.
I'm in a coffee shop with headphones on and judging by the strange looks I'm getting I possibly shouted 'YES!' a bit too loudly!
I think she means the election will be finished in a single week?
She had that smurk across her face at the end did she just dive into that range Rover?
Will it be a general election or one within the tory party?
It's all down to Tory MPs. They have a majority... they can choose any path they want now, but they need to agree on one. I suspect they'll choose a leader amongst themselves before the end of the month. All we can do is prepare to make sure they don't have that majority to do whatever they want again (and keep up the public pressure to have that vote as soon as possible). When we get the vote again, we need to make sure we all vote, and vote to make sure your constituency doesn't return a Tory MP.
not **** one of em will make a good leader of the country.
None of them. Nil! Zero! Kaput!
Not within such short period. This is an energy crisis and thanks to "climate change", there is no backup plan. All eggs in one basket ...
Unless of course Labour is going to create new "energy" from thin air ...

Yep, Brexit has that effect.
It’s a Romaine plot
Now, the endive is near...
Wasn't watching. Was her husband dressed in his scruffies like he was still stripping Carrie's awful wallpaper off?
I feel it's appropriate to share this again.
So not forced out, just that no one else believed her mental policies and ‘mandate’ then?!
Of course she was forced out. The statement was just deflection as she didn't want to admit it being turfed out by the backbenchers.
Quick! Jacob Rees Mogg! Now's your chance... 8-0
Out of the frying pan, into the fire, then into the passing flow of lava...
Well I didn't think it would happen that quickly!
I work in a large building with a big central atrium
For some reason a lot of cheering broke out across several floors just now
I walked into a cafe after my ride to find no staff anywhere, spotted them huddled in the kitchen round a small screen and as I got near they all erupted in a big cheer! Saw the headline on the screen and joined in 🤣
Yep, Brexit has that effect.
You look to EU for leadership? Yeah right ... they are all running scare. Even EU don't have a solution to energy crisis.
Unless of course Labour is going to create new “energy”
Chewkw, the turmoil we are facing is not all about energy you know.

Now, the endive is near…
It's all Cos of Putin though...
Now, the endive is near…
Nah, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Chewkw, the turmoil we are facing is not all about energy you know.
Accumulation of Brexit, Covid-19 and the nail on the coffin is Ukraine/Russia war.
You cannot isolate all the factors.
questions - who can they find that will unite (at least three) different factions of the party in the week, sufficient that they can convince the nation and markets that they can govern the country in difficult times.
And assuming that it isn't a coronation, and there are several candidates, who can present anything like a mandate in time?
Surely the like of Patel, Braverman, Rees Mogg are just too divisive to even be considered as a unifying candidate?
an energy crisis and thanks to “climate change”
Climate change is real. And a present threat. And our energy supply must be moved away from fossil fuels as fast as possible. Truss (like you) proposes the opposite, and she is on the wrong side of history. The Tories need to learn that lesson fast, and divorce themselves from the policies of the Tufton street mob and their pro fossil fuel backers.
Resigned Kos she was so terrible.
How did the fracking vote get turned into a vote of no confidence?
The government intended to lift the ban on fracking without a debate or vote in the House of Commons, claiming that as the government it was solely their responsibility.
The Labour Party tabled a motion which said that it must be debated and voted on by parliament.
It wasn't a vote on whether to allow or ban fracking only to debate and vote on it.
The government claimed that it amounted to a vote of confidence in the government.
Climate change is real.
Real or not this is not the time to deal with that.
However, it will be very funny if Starmer stars banging on climate change ...
Perfect summary Ernie.
As far as I can tell Labour are saying the Tories did it, and the Tories are saying it was Labour. Does anyone know the answer?
Labour decided to put in a opposition motion for a bill to rule out fracking. Probably just for a laugh/put some pressure on the tories who are rather split on the subject.
The tories then decided to turn it, effectively, into a vote of confidence by imposing the three line whip.
God knows why at this stage since it was only the vote on whether to have a proper put through so plenty of time to mess around and/or impose the whip when it came to the final bill.
So Labour responsible for the vote occurring but the tories responsible for it becoming such an important vote.
James O'brien last night was speculating we might be just one or two Conservative leaders away from actually admitting brexit is the problem.
Boris says don't touch the wallpaper.
James O’brien last night was speculating we might be one or two Conservative leaders away from actually admitting brexit is the problem.
Only if they have weak leadership. All weak leaders will blame someone or something ...
How can we not have a GE following this?
James O’brien last night was speculating we might be one or two Conservative leaders away from actually admitting brexit is the problem.
Depends how fast they turn them around! We're probably 8-10 years away from that... whereas we might have two more Conservative leaders before the next election.
All weak leaders will blame someone or something…
You blamed Brexit further up the thread. Anyway, I'd better stop feeding the troll.
No Jeremy #unt for pm then that's a shame prince Charles could have had another #unt come to tea
James O’brien last night was speculating we might be just one or two Conservative leaders away from actually admitting brexit is the problem.
Its not though. Brexit was and is a symptom and not the cause.
How can we not have a GE following this?
why bother, not a single one from any party is capable.
charlie should ****ing hang em all at the tower. and have monarchy rule.
Brexit was 'caused' by austerity and low growth.
It's lead to austerity and lowe growth.
So the solution to reversing austerity and low growth is ........
this is not the time to deal with that
For once our resident troll is right. The time to deal with the climate disaster was 50+ years ago.
Imagine being one of the many civil service types that she sacked 44 days ago. Sacked by a donkey
One thing's for sure, the House of Commons is definitely more entertaining than House of Dragons.
