It's your interpretation that it's 'moaning', I made an observation, ie, that I couldn't recall Starmer giving a single interview on the telly in the last week,
I also said that it was probably a wise move to leave it to others as he hardly inspires and energizes people.
If he has given an interview this morning as claimed it wouldn't surprise me as he has a bit of form concerning turning up to the party late.
When he is PM he will probably have to rethink his strategy though, not commenting or taking decisive positions until things have moved on won't sit as well in his new role. He will have to say a lot more, I hope he is prepared for it - waiting for the Tories to implode won't be an option when he is PM, although he might still be able to leave it to others to deal with the media.

I just feel the labour party need to get ahead, I agree that Labour have been leading with tories jumping over to their (labour's) policies when their own fail, but the average voter won't see that, and if labour don't get ahead and be heard (im only seeing a full page of tory stories on the front page of the bbc at least) then come an election the (tory led) media will take over again and just lie to ensure they remain in power...
Tbh im sick of this crap the country is spiralling into a disaster of insane proportions, as has been said people will die of cold and possibly starvation this winter and the government doesnt care, I just want to see someone that cares about the country and the planet in power working for both. Honestly he might get away with it as leader of the Opposition, especially when the Tories are committing suicide, but it will be a whole new ball game when he PM - he will need to react immediately, and preferably not leave it a couple of days to comment.

Labour and Starmer have done much better recently, although TBF being leader of the labour party is a very easy job at the moment. They're starting to flesh out some good policies on green energy and employment. This morning at the TUC Starmer promised to ban zero hour contracts and repeal the 2016 (and any new) trade union legislation. It seems the more the tories self-destruct, the more Starmer feels safe in adopting many of the previous leadership's policies. The danger is whether Starmer loses his nerve when up against someone like Hunt or Sunak.

I don't think that's right. The tories would need to go through the normal bs to select a new leader first, which takes a good couple of months. I don't think they'd throw someone straight into a general election without going to the members first.

Looking at all the candidates from Tory Party I can say only Penny Mordaunt has a better chance of stabilizing the boat. Sunak is okay as tacticians but does not posses the leadership strength. The rest are not worthy of a mention. Jeremy, Chinese "influencer" Hunt can take a hike.
As for the oppositions, don't be smug coz you are in the same boat. You too don't have someone that can command leadership role. You think Starmer can? He is care taker (temporary leader).
