Labour have got to start campaigning for reform of the political system now.
I agree with that.
He was fuming and made more sense than a well briefed PM
The poor MPs thing was just him venting at least he knows it's over.

I'm looking forward to Have I Got News For You on Friday night. Might have to be a special extended edition at this rate!
That Charles Walker interview on the BBC news is incredible.
He still voted with the with the govt though.
MP that was accused of being manhandled says he wasn't
Alexander Stafford, the Tory MP alleged to have been "manhandled" by senior members of the government, has tweeted to say he had a "frank and robust conversation" outside the voting lobby but that was it.
In a tweet, he wrote: "Lots of rumours flying around tonight. This vote was never about fracking but about Labour trying to destabilise the country, and take control of Parliament.
"I had a frank and robust conversation outside the voting lobbies confirming my opposition to fracking, with members of the government, nothing more, reconfirming my position which I spoke about in the Chamber this evening.
Someone's fibbing, and based on reputations .......
Would love to see Walker channel that obvious rage and organise some kind of revolt/walk out/whatever
He was great on the idea of ankle tagging protestors as well. I think he's done with all the current nonsense
Both Liz Truss and Wendy Morton (Deputy Chief Whip) abstained
MP that was accused of being manhandled says he wasn’t
And in other news an Iranian climber who competed without a hijab, says if fell of inadvertently and it definitely wasn't a protest, honest, please don't kill my family I said what you wanted..
Did Truss make the triple lock commitment to stymie her replacement?
CCTV in commons voting lobby?
Let's hope there is!
Chaos with Ed Miliband at last! You'll be a long time waiting for anything more absurd in British politics than a party calling a 3 line whip for no good reason and then their leader and deputy chief whip both abstaining.
"* me I won't do what I tell me, * me I won't do what I tell me"
Both Liz Truss and Wendy Morton (Deputy Chief Whip) abstained
Assuming they werent paired with someone that should mean they both get the whip withdrawn.
no, it's supposed to be confidential - Rees Mogg was saying that filming or photos in there are against the codes of conduct (but, can't believe I'm saying this, in fairness to him he then went on to say that if it helps to resolve these allegations then he welcomes the footage being made available)
Imagine being bullied by Rees-Mogg, must be like an episode of Ghosts.
Schrodinger's whips
The letters are written but have not been delivered. #LizTrussPM
You can't deliver your resignation if you can't find the boss when she's hiding under a desk....

Mark Menzies, MP for Fylde voted against. He's always standing up making it clear residents of Fylde don't want fracking. Here's a quote from him
I want people in Fylde to have their say, to be able to reject fracking in our communities once and for all. I have made clear today to the Secretary of State that no must mean no.
Could've supported the motion then couldn't you, you t1t.
Maynard's the same.
Schrodinger’s whips
Nice work
I wonder what they are angling for.
That Charles Walker interview.. he seems utterly distraught at the thought of the backbench gravy train coming to end for those who thought they had a safe seat for life. Krishnan Guru-Murphy has a word for people like him
So when will the marches in London start!?
The Poll Tax was a warm and fuzzy policy compared to the shit show going off now but the anger is all on social media.
There's a few of them that have used the "choice for local people" argument, saying that they want their local voters to be able to say no. Rather than not having to say no.
the anger is all safely dispersed on social media.
That's an interesting idea, that social media is a safety valve allowing people to vent their anger, before they resort to public disorder.
I'd love the occasion of Reet-Smugg trying to man handle me.
As he has a face I just couldn't ever get bored of punching. Really hard.
As he has a face I just couldn’t ever get bored of punching. Really hard.
Him and Farage.
I'd be buying every milkshake in McDonald's if I ever saw either of those two out and about.
But how can we strike?
We don’t have the staff to cover striking workers and the Government knows it.
Going back a couple of pages, I'm really hoping our corner of the public sector strikes. As a family, we are lucky we earn enough and have no mortgage, we will be OK, but I'll happily strike to support my lower grade/paid colleagues, and my wife's, and all those staff who can't strike because of the direct suffering it will bring to the people in their care.
And I'll say it again, the last Prime Minister who I thought was any good at the job was Hugh Grant.
Thoughts and prayers for the poor Tory MP’s about to struggle to pay the £500k mortgage and the weekly Waitrose shop because they don’t get voted in again.
Duck houses don't pay for themselves, you know.
I bet he has been waiting years to say this to one of that lot

Might we see some Tory MP's resigning from the party and becoming Independent?
Might we see some Tory MP’s resigning from the party and becoming Independent?
I would tend towards no.
Those who believe in the party would stay in to try and get the nutters out.
Those who believe in the country would stay and do the same whilst voting against whenever they see fit (which might risk being forced to be independent).
Those who are thinking of themselves first would be looking to defect and hence keep the seat for the next election.
So the Chief Whip and her Deputy are now back at their posts. Unfortunately for Truss that simply confirms the complete chaos of the situation and how nobody really has any idea what is going on.
Plenty of people apparently heard the Chief Whip and her Deputy declare that they had had enough. Convincing people who have no confidence to stick around just emphasises how weak Truss is.
I'm sure that Liz Truss still believes that she can turn things around but I reckon we might have reached the point this afternoon/evening where Tory MPs no longer have any faith that she will be able to. It should be obvious to them by now that the longer she stays as leader the more damage she will do.
Surely she will be forced to resign tomorrow or Friday?
Now let's watch people trying to make Guru-Murthy into the biggest story of the day... "Yeah we might have collapsed into absolute unmatched chaos but he said a rude word!"
You wait for ages for Tory governments to implode in bitterness & infighting
And then 2 do it a few months apart
Is it possible to die of schadenfreude?
And then 2 do it a few months apart
There is an historical view WWI and WWII should be seen as just one event. Argument is the tensions which led to WWI werent resolved by the end and there was basically just a pause until it resumed. Same way the term "100 years war" was invented for the ongoing conflicts interrupted by several truces/victories until it was finally resolved.
Its the same in here. Maybe a really, really good leader could have stopped round 2 but I suspect it would have just been postponed a bit at best.
On the plus side Charles will be thinking whilst he doesnt stand a chance of beating his mothers length or reign he stands an okay chance of beating her number of PMs the way things are going.
Clearly its not possible to die of shame, otherwise they'd have to dig a mass grave on College Green.
Surely she will be forced to resign tomorrow or Friday?
They need to have the plan in place of who is going to be quickly selected and chosen as the new leader.
Having another election with lots of candidates so the MPs have to vote several times will keep damaging their image. They need the replacement to appear to be bringing unity.
Thats what is allowing her to stay.
Charlie boy should have told lizzy-go-plop-plop to go fhooook herself, that he was going to COP27, and publicly announce that fracking is utterly insane and would only be supported by the greedy and the mentally insane. He'd have done both the UK and the world some good.
Is this the most screwed up Parliament has been since 1640? Wait.. hang on.. does it have something to do with kings called Charles?
On a slight deviation, but amusing, Peston did say the Chancellor’s name in the way a lot of us think! Not very far into the introduction.
quite a few seem to be going for "unt"
I’ve been watching the footy all night (a resounding spanking of Spurs). Have i missed any more resignations? 😂
