As above, the budget sounds a bit low though it's a while since I lived around there.

I grew up in the area and love it but I'd prefer Putney or Southfields tbh. Ymmv

If you make good use of the things you find by collecting some old newspaper & some rubbish together you should be able to fashion some sort out of burrow out on the common for very little money.

1k gbp pcm would only just get a 1 bedder in Kingston, council tax on it would be 170 pcm.
