Can anyone help me with this?
I used to like listening to wjrr radio station online. Sure, the US DJs are irritating but it's precisely my type of music.
The station is now streamed by 'iheartradio', which blocks streaming to the UK.
Without spending money on a US proxy server, is there a way I can listen to this radio station online?
It's down to the shitty iheartradio thing I'm afraid as you said. Not sure there's a way around it. I guess it probably does something clever like puts adverts local to the listener into the stream so they make money from the internet part of it. Or maybe the radio station is just technically inept and needed someone else to do it.
I read somewhere that iheartradio is owned by clearchannel, so you're right that it's advertising that causes the issue.
I just wondered whether there's a way to create a link or something that fools it into thinking I'm using an American isp.
You can stream loads of radio stations through iTunes. have you tried looking there?
