Started watching series 3 and quickly realised there was a backstory I didn't know, so went back and started from the beginning via Netflix.
Crikey, what a complex piece of screenwriting!
The long story arc gets more complex by the episode, the acting is top notch as well. How I missed the first two series I have no idea, but isn't catch up TV wonderful?

I watched the first 2 seasons. Started watching the 3rd and think I need to go back and watch at least the 2nd again before I continue.
We did the same. After the first two episodes of S3, we went and watched from S1 for the first time.
I don't remember enjoying a TV series so much for a very long time.
Coming from Rochdale, the allusions in S3 didn't go unnoticed either-we have one episode of S2 to go before that though.
