I'm looking at getting a Lifeproof case and there are some cheap deals on Amazon. They seem too cheap though so I'm concerned they are fake. Anyone bought one, alternatively anyone got a retailer they can recommend elsewhere?

Cheers

I 'bought' my from lifeproof at the end of November, it didn't turn up after a month, they send another, it didn't turn up after a month. After constant emails to them I finally for a refund after around 3 months of the original order.

I wouldn't order directly from lifeproof. Reviews aren't great of the product anyway.

Got mine from outdoorgb.com - turned up in a couple of days.

It's been great.

The OP's price does seem a tad cheap - do Amazon police their sales?

It may well be but in general the reviews I've read haven't been what I would expect for a very expensive iphone case.

Otterbox gets very good reviews.

i read a lot of reviews before I bought mine. all the bad ones seemed to be based on people buying the cheap knock offs from ebay/amazon.

anyway, otterbox isn't IP67 which is why I bought the lifeproof.

Bought it from Lifeproof directly, at least I know it's genuine. Got a few £ off with discount code CA10TK133 if anyone is interested.

I got one of ebay, looked pretty genuine, sealed in original looking packaging and wasn't that cheap but when I tested it before putting the phone in it leaked.

That Amazon price seems too cheap to me and the seller is just trading from a residential address so it wouldn't give me much confidence.

If I get another one I'd only buy direct or from a well known retailer as there seems to be loads of fakes out there that aren't actually waterproof.

I asked about cases and got the same advice re lifeproof. I've since contacted some of the ebay providers that looked more genuine and to thier credit they've all stated " its a copy of" and " is almost as good".

I couldn't be bothered paying £50 so my iphones going in the free zipvit wallet that come with their £10 sample pack.

Heads up on the cheapo ones - At work we bought an £18 iPhone 5 one from a guy locally. We wanted to test it and compare with a 'real' lifeproof case as we are working on something similar Just put it our IP test tank at work and it leaks a lot.

Just put it our IP test tank at work

does that differ greatly from a bucket of water?

It's actually a water butt!
But it leaked, and not very deep either. The official lifeproof ones we have dunked didn't...
