MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
There was a thread a few days ago asking about messenger bags. I clicked all the links, and I really liked the look of this:
https://lbbjkt.com/the-echelon-s-
designed by cyclists, not too expensive, nice looking, versatile, etc. etc.
However, once you add on the postage it gets a bit pricier. I don't mind spending on something that's good, so I thought I'd ask if anybody here has one, or knows someone who has one, or has seen one out in the wild ...
Yep, I had a look at those; very nice, but not easily available in the UK.
Just need to wait for CFH to visit Jakarta and we can place a bulk order....
Really like the blue one...

I've been dithering over getting one for ages (honestly about 2 years). Postage and customs adds a bit but still cheaper than Mission Workshop, and apparently similar quality.
Would like to see one in the flesh first though.

You're paying a huge brand premium for their stuff, doubt the bag is any better made than any other courier bag out there at 1/4 the price.
Well at least others like the look of them - shame nobody seems to have tried them.
I might give it a go. I've had a log look at all the specs and functions, and the only possible fault I can see is it doesn't have a padded back. I reckon I can do without that.

Well, I decided I'd go for it as I couldn't find another bag that ticked all the boxes.
I'm pleased with it. I got the medium size (which is large) and it looks big but isn't too big to carry comfortably. It fits really nicely and is well balanced and comfortable. Obviously too soon to tell if it will last, but it looks to have good manufacturing - no loose threads or stitches, seems strong in all the right places. It isn't too bulky, but expands well if you need the extra space (such as stopping at the supermarket on the way home from work).
It's good looking, and well thought out - the straps and closures are all where you'd want them. My only slight niggle is here, as it has 'expansion straps' in case you need to carry anything big, but these are permanently rolled and attached - I'd prefer it if they were removable. However, they don't really get in the way, so it's only a minor complaint. Oh, I had to pay an import charge as well, I always forget about import charges. Despite this it's still well priced compared to similar bags. The extra 'stability straps' are good - they are easy to stash out of the way if you're not using them, and fit comfortably when you are. All straps are easy to adjust to get a good fit.
It could maybe do with an external pocket. The pockets inside are well thought out though, so it's no biggie either way. I also got the 'Tiny Houdini' phone pouch which makes this a lesser problem, and I reckon is worthwhile.
If you've really been considering it for two years I'd go for it - it's pretty much how it's described on the website and videos, and seems well worth the money. If you have any worries or questions I can answer them or take pics, but I reckon you'll be pleased if you go for it.
