Its hardly worth the hassle when you can get a perfectly good chain for about £6 on ebay, well thats my thoughts anyhow
I prefer to run a file through mine several times a day of use to keep it absolutely right. That way you dont have to take off too much at a time.
Buying a new chain to replace a blunt one is daft. My chains get "major" sharpenings 20-30 times at least before replacing.
