A friend from Finland is trying to find a flat for 6 months in Manchester, anyone got any recommendations?

The house we rent is managed by Belvoir, but your mate may struggle when they do the credit/back ground checks, as they need to be sure you can afford the rent, will he be working or studying?

They're on a spectrum from almost criminal to almost competent.
Where in Manchester is your friend considering? Many agents only operate in certain areas.

I rented two through Philip James, I think. For a letting agent they were pretty good, didn’t have outrageous fees and had helpful staff.
