This'll probably get flamed but what the hell..

Is your behaviour on here consistent with how you behave in real life?
Do you think others perception of you is correct?
How would you describe yourself in 3 (brief) sentences?

Hmmm, what an interesting question TSY.

Pretty much, yes. I behave differently at work to how I behave with my mates etc, but don't think I've ever done anything on here I wouldn't do or say out there.

Nope... A lot gets misconstrued on the net IMO.

Quiet mannered, full of sh1te, obsessive, knob.

Q1: Yes pretty much. I tend to post on here as if I am standing next to the person in the pub.

Q2: Er probably.

Q3: a.A bit dogmatic (I listen to a well reasoned argument and STW has made me reconsider my views several time)
b, Argumentative although as Q1 even when I get a bit wound up it would still be the same in person.
Too busy for a 3rd!

Yes, I'm pretty opinionated in the real world. Kind though, odd combination maybe.

No idea. No-ones ever told me what they think other than flinging a few insults.

Imperfect, and still learning.

No, I tone it down a lot for here. I offend the living bejeezuz out of most people in real life. My missus keeps me away from polite company.

I don't know, not been here long enough to find out.

Confident, caring but a bit old-school.

1. I think so
2. Ermm I have no idea,
3. Thread killing, techy tw** who posts twaddle. Winter - beardy weirdy niche type, Summer - grumpy old B-N-M. Mostly slow & harmless

1. No I have to tone "me" down abit for public consumption. 2. The only folks from here I've met are like minded idiots so it's not a true representation of the STW demographic so I can't comment. 3. The boundless enthusiam of an eager puppy mixed with the world weary enui of the ancient mariner.

Pretty much. But don't get into political stuff on here there are too many lefties.
God knows what do you think of me?
I guess I would describe myself as quite boring unless you are interested in the narrow field of things that I know a bit about then I'm only a bit boring. I don't really have much to say about myself but I try and help/give advice where I can. God that sounds depressing doesn't it!

Erm..

I'm the same wherever I go/whatever I do/whom ever I converse with..

Why not, I've nothing to hide.

I'm a Saint Me..."ping" (as a beam of light reflects of my halo)

Yes, completely.

Do you think others perception of you is correct?

Depends on what they think; I really am as grumpy and misanthropic as I appear on this forum

How would you describe yourself in 3 (brief) sentences?

More enthusiastic than skilled. Hate to be the centre of attention. A posh Geordie.

1.pretty much probably less sarcastic on here as it can be misconstrued- that said i tend to no hang out and therfore argue with people in the real world who dont share the same outlook on life.
2.No idea. how do they perceive me?
3. bad speeller, bit ranty and

My real-life persona is a bit less doggedly argumentative than here, but i don't have google to hand in my non-internet dealings

1) pretty much*.
2) There are some in here who perceive me as "right wing" as opposed to liberal marketeer, without really understanding what right-wing fully means. Generally Im probably perceived as a bit dull frankly 🙂
3) Analytical logician. Tinkerer not a fighter. Fortunate.

*I confess I might get a touch more aggressive when people start rattling on about finance and banking from positions of clear ignorance. I dont go barrelling into conversations about pharmaceutical dosages or the re-mapping of car engines through the VAGCOM and then insult posters' fields of expertise, and contradict posted facts with rhetoric.

a. I haven't got the energy for multiple personas so yes what you read is what you get face-to-face but lacking the smiles and giggles.

b. I don't get much feedback but what I get is OK

c. Engineer by nature, on a mission a lot of time; a bit Star Trek. Becoming a Christian has brought a focus for my sense of justice and morality, and a desire for kindness, sharing and good-will to others. Quite interested in cycling but don't feel able to it justice due to time pressures.

1) Yes. I try to be me irrespective of whether I'm behind a keyboard or not.

2) No. (Almost) no-one here knows me in real life and it's very easy to be taken the wrong way in communication that's solely written.

3) Um. CBA with that right now. Maybe later.

1. Yes although I'm more likely to tell someone eff off in real life to be honest. I'm probably a lot nicer on here tbf.
2. Yes
3. Ummm, I'm not sure how to describe me, how would you describe me and I'll see if it fits with how I think I'm perceived on here 🙂

I don't say anything on here i wouldn't say to your face apart from swearing, I'd happily tell a few people what i really thought of them using a few choice words to their face but can't here as i don't want a ban.

funnily enough STers ive met are surprised with the fact I'm the same, wereas they are like church mice in comparison

If you try to be someone else you'll get found out

Surely the satisfaction of getting it all off your chest is worth 2-3 days of gardening leave?

Is your behaviour on here consistent with how you behave in real life?

Utterly.

Do you think others perception of you is correct?

How would I know what others' perception of me is? All I can comment on is my own perception of that, but honestly, if you worry about what other people think of you, you're simply wasting valuable time and effort.

How would you describe yourself in 3 (brief) sentences?

An ugly mix of Nine Inch Nails and The Smiths. Bemused by people who pretend to be what they're not. Bright eyed and caffeinated with a bike pawing at the door.

I'm generally pretty quiet around folk til I've been on the lash with them a few times and enjoyed the power of the universal leveller.. although this is a habit that I'm trying to change as my liver gets fatter and the pub gets furthur away..
but on here I enjoy the freedom to get involved in a debate occasionally.. or wax lyrical on something that inspires me.. I guess that I'm just more of a script-writer than a performer..

there's definitely a small faction of outrageously caustic characters online that can't possibly get away with being that unlikeable in the flesh..
I never really got on with x-box but if they'd made games like this one I'd have been slightly more tempted I suspect..
