We have a genny that gets used for the majority of the day time where the noise isn't too offensive but we are looking for a quiet power source for the evening. Can anyone reccomend a good leisure battery that would be suitable? And what sort of output will this provide and for what duration? Would it manage to run... a T.V say? And for how long? We have the genny to charge it again the next day.

Leisure battery + 12v LCD TV should be fine. A CRT will kill the battery and an inverter may kill the CRT TV too, due to the dirty power.
It depends on the size/amps of the TV & battery as to how long it will last.

Go for a 110 amp hour battery, that will have more chance of powering more for longer. Don't expect miracles, although you've got the advantage of being able to use the genny with a suitable 12v charger to recharge it during the day if you require.
you get 50% of the amperage out of the battery and better to get an expensive battery charger or even use [three phase] Hook up. Two stroke cheapy generators dont charge well or power a charger well. Better with an Inverter generator. The 12 volt power out is usually about 5 amps so would take 10 hours + to fully charge battery.
Modern 12 volt flat screen tv is a bout 3 amps [per hour] so roughly 20 hours off that battery [ you will get mor ebut better to not do a depp cycle discharge on it.
