Morning, has anyone built the Disney Stitch set 43249?

It does. It's battery powered so has a working winch, blades and retractable undercarriage.

The cowling at the front slides forward to allow you to see the MRH working, standard sliding doors, etc.

I'm toying with the idea of a lighting kit for it.

I posted this elsewhere on STW earlier, but I bought a flego Yamaha bike and lighting kit from https://joooooy.com/ .  The light kit was excellent, I'd recommend.

I'm currently about 2/3rd of the way through Diagon Alley and have got to thinking. If I wanted to design my own model of eg my house and garden, is there an app or something similar that I could do this with. I'd like it to have the ability to let me design and create the model, hopefully step by step. To know how many of each type of brick I'd need would be really useful too.

And as above, isn't Endurance just SO good!

@Ambrose , yes I think off the lego website there is a design tool.

My friend uses it for all his designs: https://www.instagram.com/minimodularguy/

Oh man, that's the first time I've seen the Endurance... now I really need something I didn't know existed.

But with a huge backlog of sets to build, and absolutely no space for an 80cm wide display, it's probably not going to happen (ie I'll get one on sale and put it away with the others).

Links to Flickr / Insta in the video text. The short answer is it's largely structural with a few 'hero' sections.

Lego Concorde down to £117 at Argos.

As a new customer you can get 8% cashback via TCB and using vouchers from workplace discount schemes save another 6% which makes it £100!

Lego Star Wars Venator is down to £373 which through similar shenanigans can be had for £320.

Took a punt on an AliExpress set.

Instructions were a little on the small side for my eyes at times but at £21 delivered I have no complaints.

My set was £17.something plus tax.

A little over £18 (+tax) at the moment.

I just found this on AliExpress:

£46.11 | 1642PCS Technical F1 W14 E Performance Speed Car Building Blocks Brick Compatible 42171 Vehicle Model DIY Toys Gift Children Kid

https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExC8nUU

Ignore that £46.11

My better half has ordered the Endurance after we watched the excellent documentary... should be a fun build over Christmas (currently on back order until 9/12). We went to the brickfest in Gloucester a couple of weeks ago. It was nowhere near as good as the massive one they do in Swindon, but still had a few interesting displays.

Some of the 2nd hand stuff tho (built once, now out of production) was mad money. Star wars esp.  Big star cruiser was £750!

Reposting this from 8 months ago with a price drop:

Selling my Liebherr R 9800 (42100) for £225 plus P&P (or can drop off local to West Cheshire). Bought it from neilforrow of this parish back on page 27 of this thread and it’s been sitting on the study floor since then. Mrs S has said time to move it on. Message me if interested.

There were a couple on BrickLink in the UK for £50 yesterday but they've sold now. Of all the GWPs this year that's definitely the one I'd have just bought as a regular set. Hoping some more turn up on the secondary market for something approaching reasonable prices in due course.

Any recommendations for a biggish set for a (competent) 9yo? I've scanned back a few pages, the Concorde came close but probably not interesting enough as a build (and back to £170). She had a dreams space craft last year, good couple of days involved building. Budget ~£100.

@jimmy

You should be able to get the FORD car for under a hundred.

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/2022-ford-gt-42154

I am in continental europe though recently we could get the le mans Peugeot and Mclaren F1 for around a hundred to in the pre christmas sales

Thanks. The ford is perhaps a bit motor-some for her. Doesn't look like you get much for the money under £100 these days, crikey. This might fit the bill (she said no technics but I think she'd like it)

2nd hand Apollo. My 9 year old loved it. Ended up taking it into school and doing a little talk about it.
