That’s AT-AT - As much as I’m a Star Wars fan - £750?! The Millennium Falcon has more pieces and is less money and is far less symmetrical. The Titanic has waaay more pieces and is a LOT less money.

I’d be more tempted by the Titanic.

I was looking forward to the AT-AT but even I'm going to struggle with that price tag. I already have one UCS size AT-AT
AT-AT
and am in the process of sourcing parts for a UCS scale AT-TE.
AT-TE

What daffy said is where I’m at. It’s really, REALLY, cool but £750 is ridiculous. I could stomach £4-500 at push, but yeah, nah.

Definitely a tax on that AT-AT. £500 at best

I might be imagining things, but I could've sworn that AT-AT was £450 yesterday.

The Saturn V was 1969 bricks at £110, I bought a "Christmas decoration, honest" recently at £80 for 1445 pieces. Purely on brick count alone, a 6785-piece set should be coming in sub-£400.

Yes, as cool as it is, £750 is way OTT for that AT-AT. I'm also not sure it has the playability factor that a couple of earlier reviewers believe it has. Sure, it contains loads of internal space for figures and speederbikes etc, but the legs require a special 'screwdriver' to manipulate them into various poses. While the articulation looks great - and is pretty true to TESB - it's going to test the patience of people IMO and they'll end up keeping it as another display piece.

You should see the markup on Minecraft sets. Some of them are obscenely overpriced.

That's impressive, don't even want to think about how much it would cost!

This tread has made me regret not buying the Technic Porsche 911 RSR when it was on sale for a steal in the toys sale. Just got my niece some lego architecture stuff.

The girls already have six smaller sets lined up coming their way calendar, hovercraft ferrari mclaren elva and so.

But I might have overcompensated a bit and filled up my closet a bit.

Could resist at the lambo as a lot of money and not such a good price localy.

But whe now have

2X Mclaren Senna GTR

Dominic dodge charger

2X Ford Raptor F 150

and a Ferrari 488 GTE AF Corse to top it of.

Looks I a am fine for some rainy or snowy days this winter season.

not being in to Star Wars saved me from maxing out the bank card

Probably worth a look at Ebay's black friday- 20% off a lot of lego, most of the prices don't look outstanding even with the discount but some look good to me. Technic Porsche for £90?

Was in Meadowhall Lego tonight and wow it’s changed. Soooo much stuff for 16/18+. Is this the rejection of Lego by kids aged 7-15 in favour of screens? Some really impressive stuff. Definitely not a ‘toy’ shop anymore.

The Defender is down to £85 on Amazon right now. Cheapest it’s ever been I think.

I've no idea, I assumed that it was a realisation that your average 30-year old had more disposable income than your average 8-year old, but that could be a part of it also? "Adult Fans Of Lego" has been an unofficial thing for years.

Agree adults have always been buying Lego but look in one of the stores and you’ll see what I mean. Not much in the way of Lego City fire engines or speedboats. I don’t doubt there’s an economic factor relating to disposable income.

Kids (or their parents) continue to buy Lego, what Lego have realised is there is a big demand from adults who have way more disposable income so they've gone from a stance of actively not marketing to adults to changing people's perception that their Lego addiction doesn't need to be a dirty little secret. This thread kinda bears that out. The Lego shops are also aspirational, lifestyle places similar in concept to Apple stores. There's still a lot of kits out there that don't attract royalties at the £20 mark.

The Defender for £85 seems like a steal. It's the biggest set I have, the boy and I loved building it. Think I paid £120 ish - I was rather hoping the price might go up like the 911, not down loads, but hey ho!

Wife's just bought me the Defender for Christmas/Birthday 👍

The price was £85, then jumped upto £106 then down to £84!

With my limited free time I expect it'll take me to next winter to finish 😂

Thinking of taking the boy (and dragging to wife) to this https://bricktastic.org/

Did anyone go to the 2018 event? What was it like? We'll be coming from the north east so need to know of it's worth the trip.

I keep looking at the lunar lander or maybe the Space shuttle for something to do over Christmas.

I want the shuttle, it's the last thing I need to complete my space collection.

20% off some sets at Disney Store online if anyone is interested. That includes the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Finished the AT-TE, bit bigger than I expected, about 70cm long, quite a complex build and more than a bit fiddly in places, looks pretty good though.

JL have it too for 20% off. Am kind of tempted, but only for the selection of figures because IMO the cantina itself is pretty uninspiring for £300+ RRP (and at the current price of £250). I've also just taken delivery of the reduced police station to add to the Modular buildings that one day I hope to build.

@zilog6128 good call on the Argos deals, just ordered a Darth Vader head for £36 delivered with the Black Friday deal and 20% off toys promo. £60 from the Lego shop, talking of which, have they reduced the price of the AT-AT, was sure it was £750, showing at £699.99 now.

Lots of places doing the Sian at £219. Ordered from John Lewis last night. Got the other two big cars and seemed wrong not to complete the set (suckered).

Lego 42114 truck thing. £135 but new customers can get £25 off with code TVGMG making it £113.98 delivered.

https://www.very.co.uk/lego-technic-42114-6x6-volvo-articulated-hauler-truck/1600488345.prd

Seems like a good deal. I bought it. The boy will love this one - that's my justification (even though he won't manage it by himself).

Someone on HUKD just suggested they restocked the Lego Passenger Train at his local Argos - just checked and they had one near me too which I've just ordered for £52! Decent bargain as previous lowest price ever is the current Amazon price of £65 I believe.
