If your Lego itch needs scratching have a look at the Technic RC Tracked Racer. Good set and gives you a handy set of tracks for other projects.

As it happens I'm picking up one of those tomorrow (John Lewis C&C) . Fancy it as a crawler-type modding project with monkey jnr.

Also interested in ordering a Brixo kit to add further customisation (and control via app) to this and other kits.

I reckon I could make that Saturn V rocket with about 10 bits.
not very exciting which is probably why they've made it big.

Sure. I could make it with a bag of Polos and a knitting needle.

Same here (today), thanks wholly to this thread.

And the resistance x-wing should be arriving a couple of weeks...

Can we stop recommending offers please, it's costing me a fortune...

recently built the BMW GS 1200, a treat whilst on leave. First Lego model in many years and was amazed at the quality. I got it for £45 and it really did feel like a massive indulgence, but actually the whole process of building and the finished model felt well worth it, fills me with childlike joy 😆

I'd love to know how they design these things, the way the BMW went together was incredible.
Think it may tip me over the edge for the Porsche, which is down to around £170ish in places now.

Luckily I already have the Porsche 😀 and can confirm it is a very nice build, the double clutch gearbox is a brilliant 'What? Aww cool!' thing.

Anyone got their Saturn yet?

John Lewis have been flogging them a bit early..... A colleague has one built already - well jealous.

Oh, it's out? JL are showing out of stock.

I got a £150 voucher for ten years' service at work a couple of weeks back... must see if any of the listed stores carry it.

I wondered if I might save it until Christmas so I can build it with my Dad and Brother, but the temptation may be too strong.

Should you build one then worrying about the size of it would be the least of your problems.

Gave in an ordered. On back order until mid July, but that's not a problem.

Biggest problem will be refraining from building it! I'm having a go at 'investing' in Lego.

Owned: GT3, BMW GS (+ quite a few others from childhood)
Want List: Merc Arocs, Claas Tractor

Porsche kept me busy for a week of evenings.

My old landlord does that, buys boxes and boxes of boxes of kits and minifigures, when they are on offer in supermarkets or wherever, waits for them to be discontinued (could be years) then sells them.

You need a LOT of space to store it, landlord had 2 lockups and a 3 bed house literally almost full of it....

And don't give up the day job...

Where from, Lego directly?

I'm kicking myself for not ordering it from John Lewis when it was in, it didn't occur to me but I've got £150 in gift vouchers that I don't know what to do with and one of the retailers I can use them at is JL.

Same, although I didn't actually see it until it was already OOS!

No real point backordering IME, by the time they are back in stock they'll be plenty judging by previous highly sought after sets e.g. Ghostbusters HQ. Plus there is the outside chance of some kind of promotion before then to get a bit more value out of it.

Oh, I'm not expecting anything massive from it, and I normally always buy Lego to build as I love the stuff. But because of what this is, I feel it may become a proper collectors item once it goes out of production.

Yes, online Lego store. I'm in no rush for it, and certainly not prepared to pay the 200-odd quid that filthy speculators are already asking on Amazon 🙂
