Looking to get new 40" TV around xmas time, Is it worth paying the extra cash to go LED??

I'm very happy with my LCD Samsung, LEDs didn't look any better to me. It's only about the backlight method anyway, they are all LCDs at heart. Mine sits near a big window and doesn't want for brightness or contrast.
