Is it cheaper?
Looking at this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/190866299480?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108
Am I likely to get a nasty surprise 're customs?

You might, but it'll probably only add another £15-20 to the price, and seeing as how Amazon.co.uk list it at £164, what have you got to lose?

You should only pay VAT on that value if they pick it up ~ £9
They may sting you for an admin charge too

They aren't that good. I have a juice, not the exact model shown but looks identical. Better than a Chinese cheapo tool but not as good as the original style leatherman tools. Irc. The wave is the one to have.

Also a big fan of the full size Leathermans. The extra size and weight of something like the Wave is negligable, but they're just better. Much, much better.

You'll only ever need to buy one, so make sure it's the right one. The extra cost of a proper one will be long forgotten in 20 years' time.

Had a Wave since 2000. Still going strong. One of the best gift's I ever received, so much if it ever went walkies I'd buy another.

No compromise.

I have an XE6, a Wave, a Squirt PS4 and a Micro. I reckon the XE6 gets the most use to be honest. Not sure why, possibly just that it tends to live in the cutlery drawer so it's generally close at hand whereas going upstairs to get the Wave I might as well just use the proper tool.

n.b. I used to work for a leatherman seller and all of the above cost me next to nothing as they all have engraving mistakes on them. I don't have a fetish or something.

They're a bit rubbish, my father had one which I'm giving to my lad, it's hardly had any use and it's broken!
Just reminded me that at least they have a decent warranty...

I've got a Wave it's much better!

Micra lives on my keychain. Mainly used for scissors occasionally screwdriver, generally for batteries for kids toys and of course bottle opener.

Juice main use has been opening wine when camping. Used other stuff on it too but plenty tools in house and there's a tool kit with pliers vice grips screwdrivers etc in both our cars

Currently on my second replacement XE6 - which shows that the warranty is good, but only because its been needed - some of the small parts in the XE6 (specifically the spring bits which provide the resistance to opening/closing the blades) are too fragile and break rather too easily. Latest replacement seems to be lasting better than the original and the first replacement, so perhaps Leatherman have finally sorted things.

Charge Ti (TTi is the current model) great bit of kit, in my rucksack.

Micra on my keychain and a Juice SE in the car.

All bought online from eBay.com and sent to me in the UK. No additional charges/fees.

Looks for TSA confiscations for some good deals on second hand.
