I'm contemplating learning Spanish (not Brexit related - I just like going there on holiday and its about time I made up for my fail in French O Level) and wonder if any experience or views on whether on line programmes work or whether a class is worth enrolling on. Any recommendations for places in London would be appreciated.
cheers / salud!
read spanish magazine websites or a book.
take latin dance classes.
I did GCSE at the Working mans college near euston, good fun and not too difficult a language. One evening a week and a bit of homework so not too onerous.

Combine the two? http://www.donquijote.co.uk/spanish-school-in-granada
I went to that school and it was a very good experience I'd recommend. Would have been 10-13 years ago now admittedly so can't vouch for the current quality of teaching.
If you live or work in or near to a big city, see if there's an Instituto Cervantes (Spanish non-profit cultural exchange centre) because their intensive 2 week courses will get you up and running in no time.
I found the Michel Thomas 'tapes' gave me a reasonable basic understanding.
Buy a book that will give you the basics. Sentences you would use on your trips to Spain. " Do you have ", " I would like " Where is ".
Learning verb endings can be difficult so maybe just learn the endings for I,you and we.I have, you have,we have, they have. all have the same verb ending in English but this is different in Spanish.
Basically,keep it simple.
I did Michael Thomas, all the way through including Word builder. Really really recommend it.
I then moved to Barcelona for a year, which was nice.
Duolingo app is good for the basic stuff. It will nag you if you dont do it too!
Doing the Spanish GCSE on Friday.
I liked the week I spent at inHispania in Madrid.
I also have a 1:1 hour weekly with a teacher.
Books: Pasos 1, And the Teach Yourself Spanish Grammar Book
Podcasts: Notes In Spanish, News in Slow Spanish
CDs ; Do the Paul Noble rather than the Michel Thomas, way better.
Duolingo App on your phone

Another nod for duolingo. Been using it for 9 months and have gone from zero to 'getting by'. It helps that its quite fun to use too.
