Anyone watching this weekend? I'm away from home at the minute with work so won't be able to see much or any apart from watching some highlights on YouTube at breaks.

Looks like it could be a good one this year

Probably just the YouTube updates, u less there’s a way to watch that doesn’t involve yet another subscription?

You can pay a one-off £17.99 - or it's a dodgy stick!

Haven't decided whether to pay it or not yet as I'm out most of the weekend so would only catch a few hours live on Saturday evening.

I usually try and watch some as it's a nice activity for my birthday weekend, and I still seem to have access via TNT Sport / HBO Max.

A birthday trip has been proposed for my 50th next year, I'm in two minds - sounds great fun on paper, but I also feel I'm at a point in my life where I'm very happy to limit the chance of ever having to camp in adverse weather conditions.

I almost went for my 50th a few years ago which coincided with the 100th anniversary but it also lined up with divorce so unfortunately didn't go.

Depending on my shifts I do want to head there and the N24 over the next few years

Le Mans (even in real life) is an exercise in tolerating boredom. Unless it rains, or a couple of drivers have a beef, it's perhaps the dullest thing imaginable.

Sorry.

I think do it - the race is really quite incidental to the whole purpose of being there. If there's a bunch of you, you'll have a fantastic time. 🙂

I didn’t renew my subscription when Porsche left the WEC - though I’m pondering paying the one off fee for Le Mans

In the past I’ve found YouTube channels broadcasting live - but they usually get shut down eventually

There are literally hundreds of thousands who very regularly disagree with you on that one.

We've been to the Classic LM a couple of times and it's great fun.

Last went to Le Mans 10 years ago and it was a great weekend away with a few mates.

We camped in a village a few miles outside Le Mans and caught the train in and out each day. It was cheap and we had somewhere quiet to sleep.

You're aware there's a difference between fact and opinion, yeah?

In person it's not really about the race, it's about the atmosphere, and the whole carnival. The race is just incidental to everything else. It's a brilliant weekend away with friends. I went with some mates who aren't really that in to stuff with engines, and they loved the whole thing

The memory of arriving at the campsite at 10pm, and popping my head over bank, to see a field of Astons and Corvettes on the overrun lighting up the night, and feeling it through my chest, is something that I think will stick with me for a long time

Slept through most of the race, mind.

Every year I get the start time wrong… and I think it’s just because they started at 3pm once around 20 years ago

Just had a look on YouTube, you can follow individual cars by the looks of it.

Wild that there hasn’t been a single retirement in the top class when well beyond halfway. Couple of big issues of course, but even those cars are still close for this sort of race

Been a Jota fan since they ran the Porches, but I’ve got a horrible feeling they’re in the middle of being taught a Le Mans winning lesson by Toyota
