90% of the time a Nespresso (with Aeroccino) will be much better

For 'special occasions' a Nespresso will be better (because it's quick, easy and your coffee will not be stale from the last 'special occasion')

Nespresso will be cheaper.

The reality is it will be 90% used with ESE pods.

If your wife likes Costa lattes, get her a machine that does Costa lattes.

That would be a Bosch Tassimo one, pretty much always available for £50 or under. Drinks about £4 per pack which is 16 drinks without milk(espresso, americano, colombian etc) or 8 drinks where you use two pods such as the lattes and cappucinos. Only maintenance needed is a damp cloth when it looks grubby and descale once a month. The coffee machine might need more looking after.

ESE pod is compostable like a teabag, no fish need be harmed by their use. If you want to hedge your bets there’s a [url= https://www.dualit.com/products/coffee-machine ]Dualit[/url] coffee maker that does Nespresso, ESE and proper coffee, and I think costs slightly less.

Picked up [url= http://www.delonghi.com/en-gb/products/coffee/coffee-makers/nespresso/lattissima-touch-en-550b-0132193191 ]one of these[/url] in white from Currys for a very reasonable £130ish last weekend - surprisingly quick to fire up, very straightforward to use and knocks out a perfectly drinkable brew.

Nespresso official pods are all sent back to recycling too with freepost etc if ocean saving is on your list :/ That is the only reason we buy their pods not the cheapo copies in plastic and the compostible ones have some hideous compost timeframes so far.

Don't think Nespresso do caramel latte, but if you buy a lattisima machine it does push button latte in a mug with fresh milk. Personally always found the Tassimo have a hint of smell sock about their reconstituted milk, but might just be me :/

If she just wants lattes and mochas in various forms then the dolce gusto ones are cheap and usually come with a £10 voucher inside making them even better value. Plus the pods are huge and non recyclable so you can kill fish and lock up fresh water in them

I'd suggest a pod machine to for latte's, if you did want a more standard machine though the DeLonghi ECOM311.R is reduced to £99 at a few places (AO, Amazon etc.)

The Nespresso milk thing can be a bit of faff if you stick to their instructions (only keep it in the fridge for 3 days and wash it between) but I think they're being overly 'safe', mine usually goes at least a week between washes and I haven't died yet.
