Advice pls - after a laptop as my 6 year old Dell Inspiron is starting to show signs of death (plus, and somewhat ashamed to say, as part of my work, I have to visit design agencies / brand owners quite often and increasingly, they seem to frown disdainfully at my less than shiny, neat laptop).
In terms of requirements, very basic
- internet / email
- basic MS Office stuff
- would be nice to be small and light as mine seems to weigh a lot and commuting around with it is a drag
- battery life - 3hrs+ and a battery that lasts over the years
- HDMI connection
- rather not pay a lot but as it's my business tool (alongside my ancient but wonderful desktop) I want to get it right
- never used Macs so they're prob out
Any makes particularly worth looking at? Likewise, any simple clues as to what to go for and what to avoid.
Many thanks
Dell Inspiron, the 349 quid one.
if you're visiting design agencies then anything other than a Mac will be frowned at
Other than that I like the look of Samsungs
Toshiba. V reliable. Not cheap but better than most other stuff. I use laptops direct mostly..
