What do you need to haul a few tons around for?

Over priced by about 50% Might be worth 3k with LPG fitted. And immaculate.

Best on lpg. Drove and seriouly abused a few V8 defenders when I was in TA. Lovely sound, not as fast as you expect though

live in the sticks where the gritters dont go, dont do many miles as most of the year im on a motorbike. unless the gritters are out.

i thought 3k wasnt too bad for a dealer car...?

At that price a dealer car doesn't mean much. Only thing you get any protection for is buying ringer

Ah my apologies.. sounds like you would actually use it.. 8)

Its odd the people who buy big cars for flat counties or city driving ๐Ÿ˜ฏ .. and never ever go offroad or use the 4wd

Is a disco the best thing for snowy roads? Winter tyres are the best thing, a 2wd car with winter tyres is better than a 4wd with summers. What about a 4wd normal car?

I really dislike the people who buy big cars for flat counties or city driving

Nob

4X4s are really handy for parking by touch, mounting curbs on the central reservation to change direction, and deal with big pot holes. I'd say they are right at home in a city.

Most people who live in the country could make do with a Nissan Micra, thin tyres at home in the snow and mud.

Maybe that was too stronger word.. I have a small car and live in the sticks.. Im not an eco warrior, but it does seem bad people buying stuff they really don't need/use to anywhere near its full capability

Hard not to have an arguement on here ๐Ÿ™

I was with a mate on a singletrack road across a common once - we were in a normal car, and a shiny new Disco came the other way driven by an old geezer. He sat there looking blank, and WE had to drive off the road and around.

D'oh!

Most people who live in the country could make do with a Nissan Micra

Most do, unless they are actually farmers. They're poor, see.

currently got another staple country machine - battered old merc 200TE.
good (fun) in the snow and ice, drifts nicely.
Unfortunately its slowly dying and need a replacement.

disco's look cheap to buy, would love a V8 - its got to be the best engine layout of all (discuss) but frightened by the reliability/unexpected big costs.
been spoilt by the merc, nowt but oil changes and couple of 40 quid tyres in the last 5 years.

My parents had one from new, it was in and out of the garage dozens of times, nothing big or any breakdowns but it never was quite right the whole time they had it.
