Seeing as here is the font of all knowledge I thought I'd ask on here.
We have a Brother KH 970 knitting machine with a Brother CB-1 computer. The display on the computer is not really working anymore the screen gets dark and very difficult to see. This is a known fault on these units. Does anyone know anything about these? Any recommendations on how to fix them?
If it's not repairable we'd like to buy a replacement unit. My Google Ninja skills are failing me so I'm asking here on the off chance someone could help me locate one

You're going to want a specialist, sewing machine repairers would be my first port of call.

I know of one in Stirling (Pembertons) and one in Leeds (somewhere in the indoor market). Other than that I have no idea.

I seem to recall spares support for those ceased a long time ago, we've got a much older (non-computerized, not even punch cards) Singer! I did a bit of research into knitting machines in general whilst wondering if a newer one was worthwhile.

If you can't get an original display, is it a dot matrix or is it segmented/templated? If it's dot matrix you could potentially find a display with the same resolution and hack it in?

By your description, sounds like you need to find a UK source for this part

Should be easy to repair yourself if that’s what it is
