I currently have a problem with my right shoulder. It is VERY painful and movement is quite impaired. I had an X-ray last week, phoning for the results tomorrow. GP did mention frozen shoulder and having looked that up on-line the symptoms seem to match up close on 100%. I am doing some stretching and strength exercises I have found. They seem to be having some effect I think as the problem isn't as continuous as it was before starting the exercises.

I have seen the K-Active pre-cut tape in Boots and have looked it up online. There seems to be positive reviews from various athletes and it certainly seems to be getting a lot of use by road racers (Wiggo was strapped up under his skin suit on todays Paris Nice TT).

Have any of you ever used this product, if so what are your thoughts?

Haven't used it, but I think I read a bit of report recently that said it didn't work better than a placebo. Can't remember where though, but I'm sure google will bring them up.
Athletes using stuff should be taken with a pinch of salt, insomuch that they will try pretty much anything if they think there's an outside chance it will work. Hence the quantity that wore power-balance bands.

Thanks Ian - that is why I am trying to get some real world feed back. Generally high level athletes will be getting it supplied by their team and as you say a lot are desperate to try anything that may help or give them an edge.

But why would you use it? I thought it was designed to provide additional support whilst exercising so if you had a niggle already it would help alleviate it - but it sounds more like you're looking for something to help with your recovery (in which case I'd have thought a physio or osteo would have been a better solution)?

I think it depends exactly what you're using it for. As I understand it it gives extra support during exercise if applied correctly so can reduce pain during activity etc.

I've used some, although not in entirely the intended manner - my physio suggested I use it to keep my hand pointing in the right direction!

I know a fair few people that use it in various places for running and cycling amongst other things - seems to work for everyone I know that uses it ๐Ÿ™‚

I suspect that the use of K tape is largely placebo, and certainly in cases of limited movement its going to be pretty much useless.

I think it can help as an addition to your own proprioreception; the sense that you have which allows you to know where your limbs are without having to look at them. I've used it on occasion to help with knee injuries that just need to settle down a bit, and it seems to work, for me, in that application.
