Looking at purchasing a new ereader and was thinking of getting the Kindle touch, can I load my own books from other sources or can you only load books bought from Amazon
Yes, through your pc
Just plug it into your usb drive and drag and drop the files into the kindle, simple, not tried pdf yet mind.
And download Calibre to manage your library. A brilliant bit of free software that will convert any e book file to the correct file type for the e reader you have attached to your computer.
Another vote for calibre.
PDFs are pretty crap, they don't resize properly, which means you have to scroll. A quick google turns up the following link on how to convert pdf to ebook format, seems a bit of a faff though TBH: http://www.fluentin3months.com/convert-pdfs/
Only want it for books will use iPad for pdf's
