Looking for one that can be used on my tod, i.e. doesn't need someone to hold upright whilst i put it on my back.
I borrowed a little life one from a friend, but it doesn't have a stable enough base to be used singlehandedly. Deuter ones look like they would do the job, but is there anything else?
Macpac. Very good. and comfortable for both little un and big un.
I've used my little life one all over on my own, you put your foot in an opening at the bottom to stabilise it, but even without it will stand on it's own if balanced right
I have a Vaude Butterfly which has a kickstand thingy so it stands up independently with the sprog in it. I used regularly on my own. I think my Mrs thinks we have finished with it as our youngest is insisting on walking now, so would probs sell, has waterproof cover and sunhood.. Email in profile.
I've got a macpac I'm looking to sell..
I'm selling a new Littlelife one that has a base stand if you're interested. Like this:

The stand folds away (inline with the backback) when not in use.
Looking for about £50 posted - they're about £80 new.
Let me know...
Cheers,

+1 for littlelife. We bought the Voyager S2 (comes with every optional extra available and has enough space for a whole day out with no need for a separate bag).
It has a foothole to keep it upright if you're nervous about letting it stand on it's own. It does balance on it's own quite happily though. It's also very easy to put on and off on my own with Amelia in it. You just need to get the technique right, but I think that would be the same with any baby carrier.
She loves it now and falls asleep in it quite happily when we're wandering around.
Which littlelife was it you borrowed?
Again Little Life Freedom and never had any problems with it not standing up right. As above it does have the foot thing but we have never had the need to use it.
I think there has to be some technique used to getting any child pack on your back, but again found the Little Life very easy one you work out how to do it and use the handles correctly.
If your thinking of getting out by yourself, make sure you get one that comes with a mirror.
