Is it not a pertinent time to have a retrospective of Loach's work , particularly Days of Hope, his 1970's series about the general strike that caused such a furore at the time of broadcast, it has never been shown again, A Question of Leadership-- his take on trade union leadership-or lack of, never shown- among others. Would provide food for thought, don't think there is backbone at BBC anymore-- they are pretty much like jellyfish..

Did the BBC ever actually say that part of the Olympic opening ceremony was clearly a "get your ****ing hands of our NHS" message, they seemed to try very very hard to pretend it was something completely different.
The BBC are very scared.
A whole generation have now been brought up with S*y and know the price of everthing and the value of nothing.
The Tories hate the beeb because they have a history of asking awkward questions of those in power. They don't see why anyone should have the right to question them as they were, obviously, born to rule.
They have no idea how important an enquiring press is to democracy and freedom.
Another institution that defined us as a nation to be dismantled by the ConDems in the name of ideology.
true other broadcasters exist- but those were made by the BBC, they control them ---same as the radical cartoon series that you can't watch Monkey Dust 🙁
