Looking at going to kefalonia in June with the kids. I know the answer is “it depends” but how interested in thoughts on how viable is an unheated pool (and thus having in our list of wants for a villa)

Any other tips on locations to stay?

as you say.... 'it depends'. depth of pool for instance?

greece in june we've had really cold pools before, the water hasnt had the summer to warm up, its bearable tho 😀
weather itself should be perfect tho, so how important is the pool temperature to you?

Personally I can never get my head round why anyone would choose to swim in a pool when the very close by sea is so stunning (was there in July, the sea was lovely, the pool at our hotel was untouched by me).

It’s partly hassle factor, with young kids, there’s a fair amount of baggage that needs to be lugged around.

I assume they haven’t been to the school of southern water for managing their sewage output…

Not normally a pool user when on holiday but a few years ago we spent the OH's 40th birthday in early june in a beautiful apartment in Assos. We spent a few hours in the pool with views over the sea during which a thunderstorm rolled in and it pissed down for a while. It was glorious!

The hottest temperatures we had was Rhodes in June, the pool was so cold you couldn't go in it.

Skala had tiny biting fish this year in the sea, you knew when they nipped you. Something to keep in mind with little ones.

We went to Vasiliki in Lefkas last June. The pool was fine, but mostly used for windsurf technique demonstration.

The sea will still be chilly in June too. Otherwise a great time to go weatherwise and you avoid the. crowds. I sail around Kefalonia quite a bit, aithough we tend to stick to Vathy across the channel as its quieter.

I have no idea about heated vs unheated pools, but if you're able try to get to Fiskardo if you've not been before. It's beautiful, small but perfectly formed.
