We did a water melon
Kudos. They certainly smell more scorched than pumpkins. Better IMO but that's probably nostalgia.
We used to use swedes, as pumpkins were expensive. Bloody hard work hollowing out a swede though, takes ages.
Some nostalgia there 🙂 We used to have turnips too 🙂
We always had swede/turnip lanterns. One of my friends did an impressive watermelon lantern today as the shops were out of pumpkins.
molgrips = swedes are turnips. Or more correctly Rutabga.
I never knew they were crossed with cabbage mind!
If theres one thing I recall from my childhood its that there wasn't a straight spoon in the house!
What's Uri Geller got to do with it?
You've never tried to hollow out a turnip then?
