[Closed] Katie Hopkins talking at your kids school - good, bad, meh?

[#9572933]

Seems to be promoting her schools tour:

[img] [/img]

I can't imagine any school round here (or anywhere really) giving her a platform to spout racism and hate but I can imagine there'd be some backlash if they did. I wonder if in part this is just so she can then argue that 'lefty schools' have 'banned' her?

Should schools invite her to speak, would you let your child attend?

“Talking at” ?

Seems quite appropriate title one would think.

No

Haven't got any but would attend with them if I did. I could live with a detention for giving Hopkins abuse

When she had a radio show she was often quite reasonable on it - I suppose when not trying to be controversial and build a career on that controversy.

She would often start a show with a typical statement and then listen and converse well with callers, and seem to modify her opinion during the show.

This contrasts with quite a few of their presenters who either have an agenda or want to stir the callers up to anger all the time.

Might be a surprise, or might not be...

Could you give some examples of her hate and racism?
I don't follow her on twitter, watch tv programmes with her in them or read any articles she writes so I have no idea.

Why not?...cant be any worse than most of the drivel that spewed forth from my teacher's mouths when i was at school.

Could you give some examples of her hate and racism?

...there arent any, she's anti islam (for good reason in my opinion, go to a muslim country and see how women are treated, dont use examples of your westernised muslim neighbours)...and islam is a religion not a race but that doesnt stop idiots on the left screaming racism whenever she decries the backwards doctrine...she is also anti immigration and again this has the left screaming racism even though her stance is consistent with all races and doesnt target a particular demographic...she's in favour of a strict Australia/points based type of immigration which seems only sensible to me and many others.

You are entitled to you opinion much as people are entitled and encouraged to point out how wrong it is.
If you spot hate expect to be called on it
If you incite people prepare to be arrested.

Not a role model for children really.

"rescue boats? I'd use gun ships to stop migrants" is one of her quotes. And that's one of the more tasteful ones.
Basically, if anything happens, she says something deeply offensive to get more coverage for herself.

"Opinions are not right or wrong"

'Make no mistake, these migrants are like cockroaches.'

I wonder if she's still calling for a 'final solution' like she did after the Manchester attack.

And obviously, I hope she'll be consistent in her mockery of ginger children when she has a few in front of her.

Stand strong!

She called for a 'final solution' after the manchester bombings
Said battle ship should fire upon boats carrying refugees

Off the top of my head

Not a role model for children really.

Is a speaker a role model by default just because they come to speak?

I would invite her. I would explain to the kids who she is, and the sorts of things she says, and use the experience to develop their critical thinking skills. Looking at the content of the talk she wants to give, it's clearly aimed at older children, they shouldn't be shielded against commentary or commentators that they might find challenging.

Problem is it's her 1 Woman show, if she was part of a panel of speakers from many sides of the debate then that might be useful.
But yeah put up her finest quotes on A0 behind the place she is speaking and make her answer open questions on that for a bit first.

It's an exercise in pr. If she's not invited, the schools anti free speech, and when she heckled to death, it's an example of how teachers have no control of our schools.
Either way, the daily fail readers will lap it up.

^ bingo

I'd only allow her if she attended with that other insanely self-promoting gobby bloke - Russell Brand. Would be much more [s]interesting[/s] revealing to watch them go at it.

and when she heckled to death, it's an example of how teachers have no control of our schools.

probably true, but regardless of what she tells the media, the kids that asked the awkward questions would have had the direct experience and hopefully would get to challenge her views?

Asking for a 'final solution' and people on here are defending her

And as for this old nugget of trollery...

and islam is a religion not a race but that doesnt stop idiots on the left screaming racism

A classic example of ignorance, its been known for some time that genetically races don't exist (everyone is mixed race to an extent).

http://www.newsweek.com/there-no-such-thing-race-283123

Racism is prejudice based on culture as much as skin colour, and islamophobia clearly is.

I see she's sticking to non-controversial case studies. She could perhaps add halal slaughter to the list for completeness :).

And no, I would not let babybgoode go -wouldn't want for her to have an audience anywhere, never mind a school.

But theres so many more dimension to her than that though - she's wished members of my family in her tweets dead too.

I hope she has applied for her CRB check...

I did wonder about that - but I'm not sure that civil cases would show up on CRB though

I'm confused. If "Opinions are not right or wrong" then why is she so keen to debate other people's opinions?

I'd like to think that the wide-eyed optimistic hope and keen sense of fairness of school children might make Hopkins consider her own positions - but I suspect the reality is that she'll skin them and wear them as a coat.

Ha! So here's the 'debate': Her readers opinion is that you are a traitorous, anti-white gleefully unemployed black-loving Trump-hating unwashed smelly snowflake liberal remoaner who indoctrinates his children with leftie propaganda while living in his (single) mother's basement at 30 yrs old. I bet you believe that Palestinians are actual people?

H*pkins - lowering the 'debate' one [s]lie[/s] opinion at a time. Now in schools. (Sings) 'Showtime, for Ka-tie and Trump-eryyyy...'

I wasn't really sure what Katie Hopkins could do to go down in my (not right or wrong) opinion. But I think wearing a cape of acne would just about do it though

Would I put her in front of a bunch of primary school kids? No
A group of reasonably well informed and opinionated 6th formers? - lets just say I'd be interested to see the results

Hatey Plopkins and her employer both have a massive hard-on for Hope Not Hate.

It's almost as if she cannot tolerate criticism of her public comments and wants to shut the debate down.

No she had to have her hair shaved off for a major brain operation to help with her epilepsy.

What has that got to do with how she styles her hair? Could have done anything with it post surgery.

It's a well put together poster though, marks for graphic design, if you were not sure which Katie "Bigot/Hate Preacher/Racist" Hopkins it was your might miss that.
Perhaps she could double bill with Abu Hamza on the rights of free speech and some American Sports men who are being persecuted for not blindly saluting a flag.

And I suppose you think you have enough first hand experience of the wide range of Islamic countries, and how Women are treated in each, to come to this conclusion? Or are you just taking the worst examples shown by anti-Islam propaganda and assuming they are all the same ?

I'm not saying that Women aren't treated 'badly' in some Islamic cultures, just that it is dangerous, small minded, and ignorant to paint the whole culture with the same brush.
I'm sure you are aware that some areas of the West treat certain minorities pretty badly, and you could also condemn other entire cultures in the same way if taken out of context.
>> Could you give some examples of her hate and racism?

...there arent any

😯

Really??? She is walking ball of hate. She has literally made her entire career from it.

A few of her "best" quotes:

Day after the Ariana Grande terrorist attack:

"22 dead - number rising, Schofield. Don't you even dare. Do not be a part of the problem. We need a final solution"

When Adam Johnson was found guilty of grooming and sexual activity with a 15 year old:

"A child? YOU ARE KIDDING ME? Looking to impress her mates by snagging a footballer. Hey presto. From sl*g to wag."

5 men found dead at Camber Sands Beach:

"5 dead at Camber Sands were aspiring footballers, mentally ill, fans of Anders Brevik or big fans of inflatables".

Regarding the 3 year old refugee boy Alan Kurdi pictured dead on a beach, she tweeted a picture of his dad and said:

"Lectured on caring for migrants by a man who left his wife and child at the bottom of the Med? No thank you Mr Kurdi."

Talking to an obese lady on This Morning:

"Would I employ you if you were obese? No I would not."

Regarding breast feeding:

"Mammary militia breast feeding en masse in Costa. Puts one off their latte."

"Women have the right to breast feed. But they don't have the right to put everyone else off having milk in their tea. Put it away girls,"

"Asked man next to me on train: 'would he mind if I got my boobs out, & fed a baby?' He said the 1st would be unwelcome. The 2nd out of order."

"Breast feeding. The ultimate badge of superiority for the bonkers baby brigade."

Regarding Black Lives Matter:

"Dear black people. If your lives matter why do you stab and shoot each other so much."

On children's names:

a name is a shortcut of finding out what class that child comes from and makes me ask, ‘Do I want my children to play with them?’ There’s a whole set of things that go with children like that and that’s why I don’t like those sorts of children. ‘Hi, this is my daughter Charmaine’. I hear: ‘Hi, I am thick and ignorant.’’

On tattoos:

Are tattoos just a badge for the stupid?

"I really think if you have a tattoo you have to wonder about what kind of future you have ahead of you"

"I think as an employer I certainly wouldn't employ someone with tattoos, I'd worry what my customers would think of them.

On gingers:

"I wouldn't like to meet a ginger in the dark"

"Ginger babies. Like a baby. Just so much harder to love. A ginger person with tattoos called Jayden? The triumvirate of horror!"

On dementia:

"Dementia sufferers should not be blocking beds, what is the point of life when you no longer know you are living it?"

On the helicopter crash in Glasgow:

"Life expectancy in Scotland is 59.5. Goodness me. That lot will do anything to avoid working until retirement."

On Ebola and then the Scottish nurse that contracted it:

"I rather admire the efficiency of Ebola. From a Malthusian and marketing perspective, it is beyond reproach."

"Glaswegian ebola patient moved to London's Royal Free Hospital. Not so independent when it matters most are we jocksville?"

"Sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians just isn't cricket."

I could post more but I'm starting to taste bile at the back of my throat.
