I wasn't born until 1980 so have this weird false nostalgia about everything in the 70's being cool, but, it's an awesome film!
Crazy prog-jazz? score flickering through the film, Walter Matthau, proper strong ending, New York accents like in 'Taxi' I'd watched as a kid, hints to influencing the Beastie Boys Sabotage video.....brilliant!
Have you saw the 70's version of 'Assault on Precint 13'? that is equally awesome and much better than the newer version.
I lived in Pelham in 1980! It was a very nice place to be, but I worked in the Bronx which wasn't very pleasant.
I read the book - great read.
Kind of weird to watch something without today's obsession with terrorists, seems quite quaint the idea of holding a tube-train ransom for a million quid.
Went and saw Pelham 123 by accident, queued up for Star Wars and got a knock back with the good old "House Full" sign
Great film, Gazuntite!!
