No I'm out as often as time allows, but most of my mtb rides now finish with a pint, or cheeky bottle of cider picked up from the last shop and drank whilst I dangle my feet in the river. Loving life 😂

Sort of, ironically I’ve been suffering with a cold this week (caught it off one of my kids) I was worried that after 40 years I’d some how picked up hay fever, but it seems not.

I'm struggling to turn up to the gym and work out on a hot metal, windowless box for three hours every night!

The canal ride sheet work is ace, though!!

And, hopefully provides me with the vitamin D I'm probably lacking...

Three hours? Are you making the equipment? 😀

I rode to work at a glacial pace this morning and was still sweating profusely when I got there

Yeah I can't be assed on my commutes this past week or so, just riding at a steady pace or slower to get to work and back.

Looking forward to Friday afternoon hoping to get a pass for the car to drive off somewhere again and ride some fun trails rather than just the same old farm tracks and coastal routes on commutes (as pleasant as they are in this weather).

Mountain Wharehouse have a sale with some very lightweight fast wicking t-shirts at the moment, I've got a few now and they're perfect for  commuting in this weather.

I tried to go for a ride last night.  Managed an hour in the heat and had to give up.  Just felt shagged out as soon as I tried to pedal.  It was fine freewheeling along, but way too hot for any work.  Im motivated, but it feels like I've left a leg at home.

I did a ten mile run yesterday after nights I think that's destroyed me til it rains. It was so hot I've lost count of the amount of water I've drunk I can't seem to not be thirsty. Perhaps running in the heat wasn't the best idea I've had

If I get myself out, power training in this heat is brutal, which results in going through water bottles faster than power turbo training in the winter.

Even popping out at 2030ish last night still felt really hard work in the evening heat with a 3min power climb early on and a 69sec power climb at the end, with some gentle climbs in the middle. Demolished a 750ml water bottle on a 30min ride and then drank 2+ litres over the next hour or so.

Really need to get up and out at 0600ish to do some 30+ mile rides where I give it beans up the hills, so I get get constructive training sessions in before the midday sun hits. Pootling at ~200W normalised power for ~4 hour rides in this heat is not going to improve my power or aerobic fitness up categorised hills much at all, when I have PBs where I average ~300W for 5-14mins.

I’m on 100+ miles a week for the first time in ages. Good solid 4 weeks of it so far, may it continue! Makes the beer taste better when you’ve earned it!

Working away from home and stupidly don't have a bike with me! Looks like this is gonna be how it is for the next few months so definitely need to sort the bike situation out.

Any good riding around Beaconsfield? Can tell from the maps that road looks promising but would rather offroad.

Loving it - more motivated in the sunshine, did a 30 mile trail/tarmac/coast ride last night & it was stunning. The downside was I didn't have tea til 10pm

It's not the weather that's took your motivation...

Was almost impossible to ride last night, following less than 100m behind anyone else meant you were just riding in a dust out!
