In my street throwing chips in the air for birds then shooting them with a bb gun. A pelet hit my living room window which made me go and have a look what was going on.
Went out to ask him what the f@ck he was doing and he said its only a bb gun. He doesn't work, 24 ish 2 kids, tattoos on neck - benefits... you know the type.
Didnt seem bothered until I told him he would get locked up for having it in public. His kids were in the garden watching him.
Just been on web to find out and turns out it carries a 6 month sentence. What a idiot.

Only a BB gun, but it's a firearms offence to be caught with one in public. I'm sure he would get a wee bit thrown on top for shooting birds too.

Sounds like an Airsoft gun - plastic BBs. If this is the case it is not regarded under law as air guns and the law is more lax.

It might be an airsoft, but it could just as easily be a full BB gun, which fires metal balls with CO2. Certainly an airsoft gun wouldn't hurt a bird very much, but most of them look pretty realistic to an armed copper...
Once reported a chap in Southampton for brandishing a gun. About 20 cops turned up and burst out of unmarked cars etc. Arrested, sorted. Was a fake but the still took him down on some firearms law I dont remember.
