You know when he carves a bit off and you say that will be fine, then you end up with enough for a week
All I really wanted was enough for steak and chips for one.
Any other more outrageous, I did not need that much stories...

That would be about the right size for my steak and chips. Enough for a week, no chance.

I see you've invented a new scale of measurement Jerome. To go with area measured in football pitches we now have steaks expressed in terms of soft drinks cans.

Your piece of meat, in the photo, is the size of approximately 5 cans of Coke. At least it's the proper stuff and not the diet version. 😀

I reckon that's about the right size for a good steak & chips too - not too excessive at all

You are probably all correct in your assesment that is not actually excessive.
May find it hard to find a pan big enough to cook in one go though.
Any suggestions for cooking.
Home alone this week, hence the purchase.

"8oz of that please"

"It's come out a bit over, is that OK?"

"How much over?"

"It's 32oz"

"That's fine"

Mmmm... Meat...

Had night in with a couple of mates a while back... We got this from the Butchers for 4 of us:

[img] [/img]

That'll be 4 steaks, 4 pork chops, 4 lamb chops, 4 chicken breasts, 4 venison sausages, 4 wild boar sausages, 4 pork sausages weighing 3.5 kilos in all...

and not a vegetable in sight...

I think half of it may still be in my colon...

Not big, not clever, but very tasty...

J - I'm liking that hunk of meat. Enjoy.

Helios - you greedy b'stard! (good work 😉 that's some performance eating!)

Hope you're all buying British, and none of that imported muck.

Indeed. Make sure it's not beyond the help of a good vet when "cooked".

Oh, and men eat sirloin. Fillet for the ladies.

I had some *spectacular* sirloin last night on the barbeque.

Reminded me how good meat can be when it's done right...

Last time my Dad came to visit we went to collect a piece of beef from the butchers it was slightly bigger than expected and at £65 my Dad suggested we put an armmed guard on the car while we left it to pick up some more goodies.
