We're the missionaries armed to the teeth, and in the process of occupying 2 countries and declaring it a caliphate, while massively destabilising an entire region?

Most of what happens in Africa tends to stay in Africa, there is a big problem of so called witch children being brutalised in West Africa, jungle justice is on the rise in Nigeria, its pretty scary stuff.

Yunki... I saw that vid. Chuffing - & #&'+& horrific. But agree with what you say. Same thing as the incident in France.... And boko haram absolute see you next Tuesdays. They get prime time... Boko get sidelined despite a x10 kill ratio. They are all snack bar loving donkey gonads at the end of the day

Nip out and murder someone and you'll make the news. Form an army, Invade Wales, declare it Yunkiland, drive out or murder everyone who opposes you, then start posting videos of a succession of grisly deaths, and I suspect you'd get a tad more media attention.

There are plenty of shocking things going in in the world that don't get a mention. I know you're not surprised that some things don't get a mention. We all know that media outlets use major disasters to 'bury' other bad news.

Imagine how depressing it would be if every single piece of horrific news was televised. Would you watch it? I imagine there are not enough hours in the day.

People are horrible.

Really...? You don't understand how the differing context means this is going to be far more news worthy?

I personally think given the news this threads intention is in particularly bad taste.

I'm appalled that any human being can take anothers life to prove a point.

I'm not appalled at what the media chooses to report.

I'm not appalled that you are a stay at home dad, taking benefits yunki.

I am appalled that you have enough spare cash to smoke dope though!

You have just repeated the same phrase. No good man, no good. ๐Ÿ˜›

You need to better that ...

Try to exclude genitals.

Its not necessarily context - as in the context of a different country or culture. [url=

Curtis[/url] has made some interesting points about the way in which news has to be 'storyfiable' in that a language of news has been developed over the last few decades that relies of certain story elements. Because that structure exists journalists don't have a way of making some events into news because they can't be turned into stories in the right way. Sometimes similar actions either are or aren't news not because the key action is different - execution by fire in this instance - but because the people and motives around that action either do or don't fit into a story that news can tell.
