yeah, very sad. not a total surprise, guy lived hard, but i'd rather we had more of him in the world than many other folk...

This was a shock I have to say, such an omni-present figure in the skateboarding world
I liked his reaction when Brian Anderson came out as gay to him as he was worried how it would affect his career as a skater and Jake just said "so ****ing what? you skate hard that's all that matters" (That might have been paraphrased a little, but the sentiment is there)
