I would have imagined that a highly sophisticated and nuanced poster would be able to differentiate between 'rational' and 'rationale'.

Even the Tory party realise that to try to increase their appeal they need to move away from being led by pencil-necked public schoolboys and trustafarians.

He was on QT a few weeks back and he was basically just bullshitting, he still got a big round of applause from the more swivel eyed in the audience.

Like Johnson if we could have fact checking of MPs in real time, he'd have absolutely nothing left to say

Dimmest MP is a hotly contested mantle within the present cabinet. Backbenchers don't get a look in!

I think it's quite sweet seeing a man open up, via the medium of an internet forum, to his latent, and previously repressed homosexuality.

Classy.

No matter how "nuanced" or thinly veiled you make you "insults", there's no hiding the fact that you're a homophobic ****.

Am I? Oh well .....if you say so.

I'd been previously unaware of this, but you do seem to right about most things, so I suppose I must be...

I blame my Catholic upbringing

You seem to think it's OK to suggest someone is a repressed homosexual as an insult. Do you really think that's acceptable??

You got the first bit right, not the second

Why would being homosexual, repressed or otherwise, be seen as an insult?

I thought that it was a beautiful moment for you to share your blossoming sexuality with the group. That's all.

Disagree with him on many issues - most notably Brexshit - but used to know him (a little) as a client in the 90s and have met him several times, hence IMO....

He's right of Atilla the Hun - don't be fooled by his affable exterior.

A thoroughly unlikeable individual

...is well wide of the mark. Intelligent, oddly vulnerable but extremely amusing and v good company IME

And amuses me to see that he still has old, wide lapel, double-breasted suit with a navy polka dot tie. Even his clothes haven't changed (since school)!!

You tell me. You clearly used it to try and mock me, so why don't you share with us why you think it's acceptable to bring my sexuality into a debate about a politician?

I didn't read it as an insult and I'm gayer than Gaylord McGayface, winner of the Gayest Gay on the Planet of the Gays, Rainbow Galaxy.

Replace the word "homosexuality" with "hetrosexuality" and ask yourself if the same question would have arisen in a debate about a female politician?

No, it absolutely wouldn't. Because Binners tried to get a cheap shot in at me, and being the outdated, bigoted dinosaur that he is, he assumed that I would consider it a slight to be accused of being a homosexual - repressed or otherwise.

I seem to have hit a nerve here.

Are you presently stained with the butter drips from crumpets?

Not particularly, apart from being offended that in 2017, people like you think it's OK to use homosexuality as an insult.

This sexual tension between you two (Binners and council) and talk of dripping butter is making me moist

Replace the word "homosexuality" with "hetrosexuality"

Are you referring to attracting people by wearing expensive trousers?

This place has become impossible. Nothing to eat, freezing cold and now a madman on the prowl outside with eels.

And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

Get your votes in..

It could be like when all those Torys paid the Labour Party £2 to vote for Corbyn (that turned out well for them..._)

Excellent! I can't think of anything better than a PMQ's involving Jezza and Rees-Mogg. They could discuss the corn laws, or legalising homosexuality, or something 😀

Either way, the resulting two-page argument has made it quite difficult to clean up.

But... but.... he started it.....

Edit: I have just noticed he's done some pretty sneaky stealth editing. Hey ho...

or something

Maybe making casual bigotry and sexual prejudice more tolerated? Would you prefer that? What about a bit of racism and misogynism? In fact why don't we just return to the 1970s so Binner's sense of humour might be a little more acceptable?

And there have been no stealth edits on my part...

Are you not bored of this yet Fred/Padded/Whatever....?

God knows, I am.

Maybe one day your frankly weird sociopathic obsession with having constant arguments with the people you feel have slighted you will allow you to live as a normal member of society. Imagine that?

Once again, you're way off the mark. Are you not bored of sounding like a bad 1970s comedian?

The Reese-Mogg's performances on QT are the finest examples of a "passive-aggressive" tactical approach to modern political dialectics available, in the modern world of political discourse.

I find him strangely attractive.

Are you presently stained with the butter drips from crumpets?

Ooh. I'm Sorry, I think I just came...

'Hetro', use of the apostrophe and 'misogynism' clearly show you lack the education of those you wish to be associated with. "Know your place" as JRM would say, "and learn the Queen's English."

If you've ever got a spare half hour or so, he does an impressive line in filibusters...

councilof10

You really aren't good at this discussion thing, are you? You went ad hom waaaay too soon. And you seem to be arguing that he should be given credit for having archaic moral views on the grounds that they fit with the tenets of a historically corrupt religious organisation which has done untold harm in Africa, when the majorty of its adherents in Western Europe don't take those tenets seriously,

What Keith Joseph described as the "politics of envy" are unattractive and I don't think his family's wealth should matter unless he acts in their interests rather than his constituents.

What I see with him, however, is an interesting mediocrity who attracts TV coverage but has not done much of significance yet...

So - no - I don't see why you are a bit moist about him... 🙂

Whereas Micheal Gove may have the most puncheable face in politics... but probably does have the intellect and did do some interesting stuff with prisons.

AdamW - loving your work 🙂

i Like JRM in a strange kind of way, I don't believe (imo) he is the same as many career politicians, he seems to know a fair bit and doesn't mind holding his own party to account on the matter of parliamentary scrutineer sometimes so for that alone i like him.

On the subject of daft cabinet ministers are we really assuming this is all one sided and the third tier of labour shadow ministers are beyond reproach?

Some on both sides are pretty woeful.

aaarrgggh

hes just of full of shit as Johnson- uses half truths, non sequiturs and pomposity to win debates, in just the same way, its a show that wears thin quickly.

goes off to find his QT appearance from a few weeks back which was a lesson in grandiose bollox
