Absolutely love it, doesn't have the vw badge to get me in to the proper trail centre car park club but who cares. 😉

Very nice. Your lawn wants watering though.

Are they theft magnets? In what way, break in or actually pinched off the drive?

door locks known to be a weak point on these, not much in the way of tooling required to get in.  a lot of people swap the door lock to something like this....  http://www.garrisonlocks.co.uk/van-locks-and-security-products/transit-hykee-lock-upgrade

It's fully alarmed which will hopefully scare anyone off or does this type of break in deactivate the alarms?

Picking the lock deactivates the alarm. I got one of those locks mentioned above, cheap enough & easy to fit yourself. Pay for the extra bezel too.

Great vans. Better than VW in every way (except the door lock lol).

Apart from the key factor that it isn't a VW.

Don't mean that in a mean way, I'm more sort of agreeing with you.

To a degree.

Lovely. The nicest looking van on the road today I think, I would have preferred a camper version over my T5 but they were too new and expensive for me. Just needs a tow bar though...

Excellent steed and choice...I'm also in the anti-VW camp, don't see the benefit of paying more for less...

After loads of research through spec sheets I decided on the lwb double cab in van, 2 seats up front 3 in the back,  it is just a shade under 370mm longer but gives a much more usable rear load compartment of 1950mm which most importantly takes my bike, plaudits to trailrat who suggested it was the way to go, kids love it already, comes with a three pin low wattage plug so you can plug low use stuff in etc. It's very quick for a van running at 170 brake and handles great. Infinitely adjustable seat and comfy, nice and high driving position. My only gripe though is that the brake pedal is ridiculously high.

Barn doors are much better you can park closer to things and get in the back, you can shelter in the back if the weather is bad

Barn doors are great for using a fork lift to load pallets into the back, for lifestyle use i’d always prefer a tailgate

Tail lift door was a no no for me, it just fits on the drive so id never be able to get in the back as it would have to be stuck out on the road. As for colour and the go faster stripes I didn't really have an option as that was in stock and unregistered but ridiculously reduced due to the facelift model being out. I'm no "latest model" snob, plus the 6 week wait and most of all ££££'s in savings secured the deal.

Do NOT leave any tools in it.

There was a spate of van break-ins near me last week... 15 in 2 nights....  All ford customs

Still more secure than the pickup which was his other option.

On the plus side surely the new ones have the uprated firmware and lock plates my mates 15 plate one was recalled to have fitted ?

And anyone that leaves things of value in a van regularly in this day and age should factor in losing them eventually. Not a good storage option for anything on a regular basis ie tools.

Glad your enjoying it. Let's be honest most vehicles can be got into quickly these days

Barn doors are better for sheltering if the weather is bad.

Wow, just wow.

Fair enough.  Sounds like a sensible reason.

Barn doors are better when In carparks.

Have had both. Having to draw forward to get your shopping in is a pain in the hoop. Likewise if you tow.

New Berlingo has a flip open rear window that gives you a tailgate that you can use in carparks.

Nice crop quoting 😉 when the weather is bad you can shelter in the back of the actual van, way better than hoping the rain is coming down vertically rather than horizontally and sitting under the door.

My 2009 one had that too.   Never used it.

Do people with tailgates not sit in their van either then? Seems an odd suggestion to make to suggest barn doors are better - doesn't matter what kind of door you have, you can sit in the van anyway. Tailgate is better as it gives a roof; barn doors better as it makes it easier to open the rear door in a tight car park...doesn't matter if it is raining or not, people will sit in the van. 😉

Unless the van still has loads of kit in it.

Had a tailgate Caddy, Vito and T5. Never found the tailgate to be an issue. If there’s someone ended up too close behind you just sling your shopping in the big slidey side doors. Did however use all 3 as temporary rain shelters (Vito is the lowest)

Love our Dispatch tailgate for shelter, just have to remember the numberplate well spills a litre of collected rain when you shut it.

Also nervous that someone will drive another van or roofrack into the rather large sticky out open door.

Use ours all the time in carparks as it's a cold day in hell when I park nose first.

Looks great! I'm they depreciate well (sorry!) and don't rust like their predecessors so that I can have one, but perhaps I should just steal one if it's so easy.
