My iPhone 4 has broke, only had it 13 months, I have a 18 month contract with Vodafone so rang them up and explained to them about the internal speaker not working anymore and surely it should be covered under mechanical fault and they told me apple only give 12 month warranties! 😡
I asked just out of interest how long Samsung have and he told me the length of the contract, so that's my next phone sorted! The s4 shall be along shortly too 8)
Anyway apple piss me off! Too many restrictions, and way too expensive!

I'm through with apple!!!!!

Take it to an apple store.

Although warranty only covers manufacturing defect not damage. However apple are renowned for going beyond.

I took my iPhone 4 into Apple store, Milton Keynes last year, wouldn't charge properly, downstairs was heaving with people potential new customers,
I only wish they took the short few steps upstairs to see the amount of people waiting for the Genius Bar, problems and faulty apple products as far as the eye could see! It was ramo and it took 30 minutes before I got seen, 30 minutes after I made my appointment!
Granted they fixed the issue there and then but the fact remains Apple, although make good products are far from perfect!

I'm switching to a HTC One next month, I'm looking forward to be able to transfer my DVD collection to my phone but for me the thought of no more iTunes puts a massive grin on my face!

Apple have lost it, the available competition is far superior to the iPhone 5 and I suspect the iPhone won't be much better.

don't eu rules apply on fit for purpose? ie phones have to last the contract and doesn't really matter what apple say unless YOU bought it from them.

as your contract is 2 years you can claim that the expected life should be at least 2 years under SOGA surely?

You should get some grapefruits instead, if you drop them they roll much better.

Apple wont do much after 12 months, as their new EU warranty form states, send it back to where you purchased it. With a copy of the apple eu warranty if you want

Funnily enough it's started working again! 😮
Still, I would have got the iPhone 5 when my contract ends but not now knowing the warranty doesn't last the length of the contract! Will be the s4 for me! 🙂

3 iphones, 2 ipads, a mac, apple tv, several ipods in our house and they only thing I've ever had an issue with was the original ipod shuffle which stopped shuffling after a couople of years.

I'm switching to a HTC One next month..

And I'm sure the HTC One is perfect, despite most of the parts being made by the same folk in the same factories. 😀

I had a question I wanted to ask at the Apple store in Cardiff on Saturday. The **** I had the misfortune to meet was the smugest most condescending asshat , happy to tell me how aweshome Apple were but unable or unwilling to help. Feel dirty that I went to John Lewis and bought a i pad mini.

I have very mixed feelings about Apple

Just to balance it out a bit...

I had a macbook. The battery died, got it replaced, the battery died, got it replaced, the battery died (seeing a pattern here?), actually cba to get that one replaced, and the "wonderful brand" decided to EOL it when it wasn't really that old tbh (I guess it was just not visibly cool enough for use in Starbucks any more).

My netbook bought not long after outlasted it by 4x even if it carks it tonight.

I would like to think so as even if you used them collectively a lot then each one would still hardly be used.
