Cry? No.

Massive respect? Yes. To make that choice on behalf of a stranger is the mark of a remarkable person. We live in a time where sadly we see more acts like this.

Chapeau Arnaud.

Actually the gun protests in the US do that for me.  It's impressive that all the speakers are 18 and under

That's the kind of act that I would like to think I would do, but in reality know I never would. Giving your life for a total stranger . Quite remarkable.

I hope his family are taken care of.. If there was a just giving page for this dude's family then they deserve every penny they get and more.

The term hero is often used and rarely merited but in his case its never been more appropriate

A remarkable act of bravery for sure. Hostage takers usually want a deal but in this case the chances of survival were low at best. I couldn't have done the same

I cry every day for the family I have lost - or, more, accurately, have walked away from me.

I don't cry very often at all, though I see that more as repression than being strong.

Yep I heard about this and was fingers crossed he’d pull through, so a bit sad about it.
