On my HP computer. It's been on the computer before but then updates failed every time I tried to install them so I read up on what to do and uninstall/re install was suggested, now I haven't got itunes at all?
Be thankful, it's a total clusterb0rk of an application and has been since 2001 or something.
What do you actually need it for?
Backing up our phones and syncing them etc.
We use spotify for music.
Hmmm. Maybe CTRL+ALT+DEL and check all iTunes/apple services and startup items are disabled or deleted. You can then try a reboot and fresh install.
Would you delete icloud?
Hmmmmmm, I've never used any cloud features, so I can't speak from experience. Google it well, you don't want to wipe your iCloud data!
I found a truly excellent free app for loading stuff onto the ipod/phone from my laptop - CopyTrans Manager. simple drag-drop.
Copytrans.net
Not anti-iTunes, I do run iTunes on my pc and it's fine.
There's a way to extract all the applications the iTunes installer installs and install them individually. That way you can see why it's failing. This is quite old, but works for newer versions -

Use copytrans instead.
ITunes sucks
