Had a long ride on the bike yesterday, and have woken to an Egg and Bacon sandwich, some socks with pictures of bikes on and Hotel Chocolat Coca Gin which I shall dabble with later.

Planning to laze about today, with the odd coffee break.

You?

Cards and a book related to my other hobby. It was my wife's 50th yesterday so we're all a bit zonked today.

Case of Hook Norton beer, Lego and a Buff. Eldest child cooked a full English with my O/H's help.

I'm a bit worried that I'm being set up for something bad, never had this much fuss before!

Card and a tenner to spend on "bikes or Airfix".

Going to dig a tree stump out of my FiL's garden in the rain later. That'll be a treat.

I got a lay-in until 7.30, came downstairs to no greetings or acknowledgement. Kids handed me the card and present then when straight back to there tablets. Wife finally spoke to me after 90 minutes to announce she's annoyed that I'm riding my bike to on Wednesday (on a day I took as holiday) and leaving her with the kids. Oh, and it's raining so my first riding at the weekend pass of the year is doing to be damp.
So not great

Should have added that I'd got up, put the washing on, made coffees for me and MrsMC so she could watch Escape to the Country reruns in bed, got up again, put the washing out, sorted the pets out...

As a special treat, we are driving to a nearby country park for a stroll for the first time since lockdown. Rather than going somewhere with a cafe doing takeaway coffee.....

Nice handmade card from the four year old with an excellent picture of me apparently being cross 😁

Couple of bike related Nik naks, couple of nice local beers,. Bit of chilling out this morning but hopefully a little family ride out later.

Then I get to go to work from 2pm till 10. 😕

Going for a kayak on the Thames with my two sons. Present was a paddle. We built a stand last weekend and have acquired the necessary paraphernalia. Now to test my boat.

Got brought up breakfast in bed (a bowl of cereal) plus new sign for my shed/office, terrys choc orange and some pineapple jaffa cakes (which aren't that bad which surprised me somewhat)

Not doing a great deal today, got the inlaws round this afternoon if the weather holds. We had an afternoon exploring some local coast and then a bit of exploration of an old gun emplacement (Grain Tower) yesterday followed by fish and chips so i'm pretty content

Recovering from my gran fondo ride race against the sun that eventually started at ~1740 yesterday, getting back around officially sunset time of ~2125.

But while my better half is visiting her dad and his vulnerable wife, by travelling in a car with her sister, I might pop out on the bike... Or just sit around in y-fronts and a string vest smokin' a 20-pack of cigs and drinkin' a 6-pack of Stella.*

Cards, ales, toblerone and haribo. Result
About to go on a 60km or so gravel ride and back for Chelsea match, then roast dinner and finally the Merseyside derby. And some of those ales obviously.
Quite happy with my lot.

Still under lockdown restrictions here so only able to have a chat over the phone with my dad. Sounds like he's struggling a bit but in good spirits. Can't wait for the day I can just jump in the car and go see him and mum.

Received beer (Beer Hawk case) and a giant gingerbread thing (!?!)

Fitted new Shotgun child seat to the bike yesterday, so hope to get out for a family ride later.

Might get a chance to take my nitro R/C car out for it's first in 20 yrs, as I've been working on getting it back to life.

I left for work before anyone else was awake, so nothing yet. I did spot a few transactions on the bank card last week but they were all Etsy so even if they’re for me it could be anything, from really good or total shite.

Had a card, a bag of fudge a bright orange shirt and an inexpertly made bacon and egg sandwich (wife).

We're now sat glues to BBC news because of the forbury garden incident (we're in Reading)... So meh, thus far.

Might get out for a ride later.

I'm with eddiebaby on this one. Lost my dad earlier this year and so I'll be having a quiet sit in the shed, remembering the good times.

Co-op vegetable crisps and Snyders honey and mustard pretzel pieces. Pack of cheap ice lollies (my guilty pleasure, I love a fake flavour orange or lemon ice lolly) Handmade card.

Done a couple of hours ride to Windsor and back, would have been and been back before anyone got up normally but it was raining hard first thing. Now sat on the decking under my best lockdown purchase (£130 Trespass event shelter plus some sunken head M8 screw in sleeves and eye bolts to fix it down to the deck) in my outdoor living room eating cheap ice lolly.

8/10 as Father's Days go, especially as every I say not to bother as it's just a scam to sell cards.

Crikey.  I’ve never drunk neat Gin before but the instructions for the Cocoa Gin are neat over ice with a slice of orange.

By god, it’s good. A light citrus start, and a warming finish with hint of dark chocolate, not full on chocolate at all.

Called my dad for a chat, we've not seen him in 6 months.

I've spent the morning giving middle_oab a driving lesson. First time on roads...

Came back to warm scones...
Om nom nommage...

No cards or pressies as yet, I quite like it that way.

Had a bike blast. Received some nice wine from my kids. Have just hoovered and re-loaded the fridge so am thinking a nice sit in the garden and I'm two thirds of the way through a very long MP3 reading of a book. Not raining yet. Great joy.

I reckon you'd want to come back to something stronger than cakes 🙂

I was out riding before ours (19 and 21) were up. Came back to two cards, wine and cheese. Cards said 'Have a good day riding, eating cheese and drinking wine'. They know me so well.

I was quite touched actually!

Came back from my ride seconds before the rain and got a great gift.
Everyone is out.
Amps fired up. Pedalboard sorted, looper primed so a couple of hours of stereo rig madness before they head back.
Simple things. Just pouring the first beer.

Went for a nice walk at local dumbles (waterfall/valleys/woods). First family walk since Mother's day.

Some nice handmade cards from the kids and some bargain chocs from 'Barrys Bargains' (better than it sounds). Otherwise normal ish day off riding with the kids, chopping down trees and getting my first haircut since lockdown from the wife, who's done quite a good job even if it's just a 2 grade buzzcut.

Yesterday started with a loop of the NY Moors with a good friend, sadly this excursion ended with an OTB, facial grazing and bruised ribs 😳

Got home to appreciation, cards, Doom Bar and gifts from the junior Wombats (although they're both technically adults).

A very good day (apart from the OTB bit)

Day out in the Peaks on Friday, Guiness cake on Saturday and vocation brewery box of beers. Best of all was the home made card from my 6 year old that he made at school. Pretty chilled weekend otherwise as we have kind of got used to through lockdown.

One card, a case of Estrella (from the non-card giver) and 3kg of Starmix. We all did a fiendish quiz on Zoom in the evening, the rounds were different subjects all linked by a theme and spot the missing part of the theme final answer.

I was up and out the door for a ride before anyone else surfaced.

Returned home in the mid-afternoon to a guilt-trip from the wife because I hadn't "wanted to spend time with my son" and "she wasn't angry, just sad" and "I go for a ride every Sunday" I also got 2 bottles of Corona beer from our son.

PS. I spend time with my son (who is 20) most days, we walk the dogs together and talk about amazingly random shit, so it's not like we aren't pretty close.
PPS. I lost a couple of hours before returning home because I was at my mothers fitting a new door strip in the kitchen doorway where one had been missing for a few weeks now.

Our youngest gets very excited for celebratory stuff, always makes something thoughtful. I got a box containing assorted sweets, a book and a voucher for a family surfing lesson in the hope we get to Cornwall this summer - something of a tradition now with the same instructor. I think I saw No1 for around 30 mins and popped down to my dad for a bit. After a swim in the morning spent the afternoon watching documentaries about climbing, swimming and surfing.

Made my own breakfast (although I had to stay out of wife and youngest way as they were off to horses), made lunch for everyone (although I had to wait for them to get back at indeterminate time), ordered takeaways for us all. I did get cards from the girls and a book which wasn't expected and was nice.

I also got one of these which I'd ordered for myself

Wera 821 screwdriver

No cards, but home made jam tarts (eldest son) and home made curry (youngest son). But we are very distracted as eldest son goes in on Wednesday to get new (actually second hand) kidney. From me - best fathers day present ever.
