I need this in an easy to understand format, can someone do a picture with the wave in relation to double decker buses or a footbal pitch...

they've put a scale on the side!

That's 75ft, regardless of which sized screen you look at it on.

Do the Express really write their headlines like that?

It's not the very big wave I am worried about, but the seemingly 60ft long UK.

Has it shrunk in the wash with all this water about?

They cant even put an Atlantic wave coming from the Atlantic side of the country. Imbeciles.

How can 75ft be the biggest wave in HISTORY. I thought that plumber surf dude rode an 80ft'r in Portugal last week.

Don't they even know which side the Atlantic Ocean is on?

Loco, needs to be relative to the number of Blue Whales or Olympic Swimming Pools really.

Actually there a are a couple of ways of measuring wave height, I'm sure a surfer will be along in a minute to explain then. Also I'd be very surprised if the wave was from the east like that seeing as all our weather at the moment is driving across the Atlantic!

Actually, they've got the direction right. The image is actually referring to the wave of eastern European immigrants..

+1

If there was a wave of that magnitude coming from that direction i don't think we'd have to worry about any immigrants from Europe any more.

Surely the only sensible scale size is how it compares to the size of Wales.

It is good, but not a patch on The Sunday Sport when it was in its prime.

Wave height = trough to crest
Surfers wave feet are bigger too. It was probably a measurement from one of the wave buoys out at sea

Once you're sufficiently inducted into the daily mail's way of thinking, you'll naturally read it as "M. FOOT smashes BRITISH UK TOMORROW", thus playing on the natural and heartfelt fears of their readership concerning the vengeful spirits of deceased socialists.

That wave's hanging over weather systems, including 2 hurricane-shaped storms.

Maybe they were aiming for 75,000ft wave. Either way, I'm confused to all buggery

It's ok, I just read that they're deploying Eric Pickles to deflect the wave.

Well, the wave is to scale - but perhaps Britain is a bit out of scale

Well, unless the wave happens to be in Albert Dock...

This is an actual wave.

It does appear to be nearly bigger than an entire Cornish village;

The daily Express have excelled themselves there. I'm guessing the arctic weather and snow will be riding on the back of this wave, ready to hit us at any moment.

The UK is a lot smaller than I realised. I'd say it's about 75 foot across there.
No wonder we're always arguing about the size of people's extensions.

Does that bus run regularly?

I'd think a return ticket would be the sensible option, as a single could leave you in some right rough neighbourhoods.

This is an actual wave.

No it's not, its splashing caused by waves gently caressing the shores...

How can 75ft be the biggest wave in HISTORY.

Yeah I wonder how they justify that one exactly?

Shouldn't there be a little asterisk with a footnote explaining that by "history" they mean "history of the UK in 2014"?
