New contract, new IT kit.
If I lock the screen or it times out, when I go to unock it, I have to put username in again, not just password.
Is this a security feature or just the it dept being ****less?
I've never seen it before.
Thought I'd ask on here before I raise a ticket 😉

Raise a ticket.  It will be much easier to fix if nothing has changed since they gave it to you

Yeah raise a ticket, it could be anything.

I wouldn't lead with "Is this a security feature or just the it dept being ****less?" though 😉

My money would be on someone thinking it was a good idea because Security. It's likely a Group Policy setting rather than a mistake.

Don't you get name choices in the bottom left corner even? They've not given you a Windows 7 machine have they?

Windows 10
I can sort of understand the value if it's just timing out, but I have to re-enter the username when I just lock the screen and then unlock it.
If I was more of a dick, I'd just buy one of those mouse jiggler things to keep the session live and remove the need completely.
As it is, I'll crank up the world's tiniest violin and add it to my backlog of 1st world problems.
