My Samsung B2030 was working fine since I got it in March, however I came to use it this afternoon and on startup the blue power LED just flashes, no picture. I have checked the cables are in tight etc. PC World helpline were useless. After a 10 minute wait, They said it may need to be repaired but didn't know when it would be fixed. I need it for work. Do I have to wait for repair or am I entitled to a new monitor? I have sales documents but not the original packaging. Or does anyone have a remedy to get it working? I checked Graphics card is in place etc..

Just to confirm:

1. Turn the product and the PC off.
2. Separate the signal cable from the product .
3. Turn the product on.
4. If the product is working properly, the <Check Signal Cable> message appears.
In this case, if a blank screen is displayed again, make sure that there is no problem with the PC and the connection. The product is working properly

From the Manual (no mention of blue light):

Do I have to wait for repair or am I entitled to a new monitor?

You have to wait, just like any other warranty, though I doubt they'll repair it, more likely just replace it. How long that will take is... an open ended question
If you wanted more cover, you should have bought a better service cover (really not trying to sound harsh just realistic)

Warranty info:

Why are you even talking to PC world, just go direct to Samsung, though there site does say they have a "Pick up & swap" warranty so you maybe in luck.

They're obliged to repair it without unnecessary inconvenience to yourself. Ie, if it's being sent away for repair, they should loan you a replacement.

("They" being the retailer, that is, not Samsung.)

Thanks Cougar, PC World won't lend me one and I don't have time to argue with them so I have borrowed one. Samsung said 'yeah loads of that model go in sleep mode for no reason and won't wake up we just put new boards in and post them back out'

Have they given you some sort of assurance that the replacement board won't go the same way? Ie, it's a reworked board with the design fault fixed? I'd be pushing for a new one otherwise.
