Thinking of upgrading my old pc.

I have an old Dell Precision 470, I got s/h off ebay a while ago. It is dual CPU Xeon 3.6 runnign Windows XP. The case and PSU seem good quality and are fine, shall I just get a new motherboard and CPU and drop it in?

I am not looking for any state of the art of gaming PC but like to run 2 or 3 monitors.

Not looking for a full system with keyboard, monitor etc just want the tower.

I have built my own up in the past but not sure if it is worth doing anymore.

Any bargains out there?

Edit!
Just googled it and found that the motherboard is Dells own form factor so it may have to be a new PC!

europc.co.uk have some dell outlet systems if you are after another precision, although their stock is not as good as it once was.

Some other dell outlet stuff on ebay, although I have noted that the warranties stated don't always tie up with what the dell site quotes when looking up the tag numbers.

Bare bones systems from Scan tend to be reasonable, keep an eye on their 'today only' page.

If you're anywhere near me geographically (Lancashire) I might be interested in taking the Dell off your hands for a nominal fee. I could strip it for spares for the lab at work, we're desperate for working kit.

worth a look - http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Computer/cat/Desktop-PC

I bought this a while ago http://www.ebuyer.com/389051-zoostorm-desktop-pc-7873-1062

For the money it's impressive - it's a bit loud and so I might change the power supply, graphics are a bit poor (desktop sometime doesn't draw correctly) so it's time to add a graphics card p.s. I had already had Windows 7 key so didn't need the OS.
